My iTunes updater has been bugging me to download and try their Safari web browser for PCs. Anybody tried it?

I currently use Firefox and I'm pretty happy with it.

We use it at the newspaper. I don't have time to play with it, but it works fine for what I need ... :D

I'm a mac user. Safari still has problems reading some sites. I'd stay with Firefox.

I use safari 3.1.1 w/ Leopard 10.5.2... I dont seem to have any problem with websites.
We must not be visiting the same ones.

:D

I tried safari on a PC at home when it first came out about a year ago and didnt care for it... Firefox was mo'betta.

Tried Safari a while back... worked poorly for me, but that was an early version.

I'm a big fan of Firefox.

I'm a little annoyed with apple for trying to get me to download Safari. I have no idea of its compatability with Vista...and until I know that...no way.

Same with Firefox...haven't heard how it works with Vista so I haven't downloaded that either.

I have a friend on another board who is thinking of trying Safari with Vista...he's a computer guy so I figured I'd let him be the guinea pig. Plus I think it's a work computer. :P

I've used it (and just about every other browser) for the PC and Firefox wins hands down.

This would be a big reason in my mind not to try it. I hate that invasive advertising....

I like my firefox, and they're not too far out from having Firefox 3, which is supposed to be superior to version 2 which is the one out now.

I have several forums that won't show the text with Safari. I very rarely would even look at a mac.

I'll have to agree with those that say stay with firefox. I've used safari - did not like it at all. I d/l'd it to see what my website looked like with it - at that time some of the graphics didn't work properly. There was another issue, but I can't remember what it was.

I use firefox and LOVE IT

I'm a Mac user, and normally use Safari because I think it renders pages better than Firefox. However, sometimes had to use Firefox on a few sites Safari couldn't handle.

More recently, I've found Safari handles *nearly* all sites fine — and Firefox looks a bit better. Also, really like the Firefox FTP connection function, and wish Apple would do something like that with Safari.

One exception that bugs me big-time: This year, the (free) live leaderboard on Nascar.com doesn't update with Safari, although the lap-by-lap summary does.... Weird, and the folks there have no idea why. It does, however, work with Firefox. The scanner subscription works on both....

NASCAR is big on WMP and all things MS. I think it might be a Microsoft  empire plot.....

Explain, please? I'm a MacBook/Firefox user and am not familiar with this function, although it sounds like I'd like to be!
