tikiwoman wrote:Bon Jovi have gone far beyond hair metal and have stood the test of time so as a Bon Jovi fanatic I am ok with them being lower down this list. I like to think of Bon Jovi as a rock and roll band who happened to come along during the hair metal time so they got caught up in that but that is not really who they are. They put on one of the best rock and roll shows out there still after all these years bar none.

Val
I saw them in April and it was a really good show.

Yes, I saw them last in March and Daughtry opened- a great show and so much fun!

Bon Jovi were heavy metal-lite or more accurately, "Mom metal". Still are.

That description is pretty accurate. I saw Bon Jovi in concert waaay back in 1985/1986 and became embarrased that I saw them because I was listening to the likes of Maiden and Priest; "real" metal. Bon Jovi wasn't cool enough. I think it was a good show; I really don't really remember. [smilie=pimp.gif]

Great thread. I've been revisiting my glam years of late.

Here's a comparative study I did last weekend on Poison and Motley Crue....

There's a small rant on Def Leppard on the site, too. I puked on my New Jersey cassette when I saw them on CMT.

This list had to be put together by a 20 something. Ozzy Hair Metal???

How can you have a Hair Metal Top list without Poison being in the Top 5?

Where is Whitesnake, Dokken, W.A.S.P., Stryper, Tesla?
