Kenny Chesney is the Kenny Banya to Jimmy Buffett's, Jerry Seinfeld.

On the TV show Seinfeld Banya was another comedian and in one episode he was following Jerry's career. He was getting laughs from Jerry, dating his ex-girlfriend, getting a pilot on NBC.

And when I saw Kenny doing the Corona commercial that's just what came to me when I saw it.

What do you all think about Kenny saying that he wishes the vote for Entertainer of the Year wasn't fan voted. I can see what he is saying to a point but it still seems not very gracious as fans did vote for him. I am a Kenny fan and this kind of surprised me.

It struck me as odd. Espically since it's the fans that have given him the success he's enjoyed. Maybe they should make a new category - Fan Favorite.

Maybe he's p*** because he didn't get the peer recognition he so badly wants. Brad Paisley did win instead of him for male vocalist.

Yes I can see his point about his peers and maybe he just worded it badly but I have a feeling some fans may not take it that way. I personally wanted Keith Urban and I have a feeling he may have been a bit more grateful- Keith Urban is a big reason I am returning to the Kenny stadium show this year though I also love the party!

I think it's strange too.

And also how Carrie Underwood thanked the fans as an afterthought ... oh yeah ....

I think some singers may be a little out of touch sometimes.

I am amazed that anyone could actually sit thru the ACM's.

I'm sorry. No offense to anyone but the current state of popular country is sad.

That being said...I really enjoy Miranda Lambert. I am also happy for Jack Ingram. I'm not a big fan of what he is trying to do, but personally I am glad for him. He is a super nice guy and deserves the recoginition.

I like country music - little strange being from Northern NJ. But, I am a little tired of Carrie Underwear and Taylor Swift.

The best underated new county performer is Trent Tomlinson, hands down. He writes all his songs and has wrote songs for George Strait and Sara Evans. Best of all, he truly appreciates his fans. One time a girl got a speeding ticket to his show, she had him sign it for her, and he ended up paying the ticket for her, pretty cool, huh?

But he made a point of saying he blamed the industry, not the fans.

I agree with him. Entertainer of the year shouldn't be a popularity contest with everyone's fans.

There's already another awards show called the "People's Choice Awards" which is Fan Voted.

I didn't see this show or hear what he said, but I know while it's a great honor to win awards voted on by the fans (and we all know how internet voting works), it's important to be recognized by your peers in the Industry, too.

Yes. But he's got to be careful with the media since they'll twist your words to get the headline they want.

I can understand his point but then why have your fanclub actively solicit votes- I am a member of the Kenny Chesney fan club for ticketing purposes and they were pushing it as much as the other fan clubs. Seems like he may have wanted it both ways, that's all :D I do agree though that is should not be fan voted so maybe they will change back next year.
