Maybe this belongs in the "Review" section but I just finished the book. Passed it on to a friend. What's everyone's take?

I finished it today.
It was a cute book---I think we have 5-8th graders that would enjoy it.

Think I could convince my school district to buy 30 copies so I could spend the rest of the school year teaching a Buffett book and playing Buffett music as a supplemental activity??

Maybe "cute" isn't the correct word for the book, but like Jen said, "It is a children's story." :D

yeah, um, we just got her standardized test scores back. she scored as high as the test can score on reading. she reads at a 12th grade/10th month level.

she'd still probably enjoy it though. something quick and easy.

I enjoyed it ... but it is definitely geared toward kids.
Kind of reminded me of Hoot - which I also enjoyed reading.
They are sort of like candy for the brain.

I think Hoot was much better written, as are many children's books. This was cute, with a few funny moments, but I think Jimmy should stick to writing the more semi-autobiographical stuff like A Salty Piece of Land. That, or find a better editor.

That's funny. "Swine Not" wasn't marketed as a children's book.

Glad I decided to hold off buying this, looks like it won't be added to my bookshelf anytime soon.

OMG! "Rosebud" was the name of Rumpy's sled! And Darth Bacon was really Rumpy's father! Never saw that coming.

Wait ... I hope I didn't ruin the ending for anyone who hasn't read it yet.

My daughter had a teacher as a high school freshman who based many of his lesions on Buffett. He teaches Honors Geography as a elective so he could teach whatever he wanted. Of course, my daughter was his favorite student! You out there lurking, Dave?
