Kenny Chesney is spring-training for Jimmy! This is the second year in a row that we've seen him. We had a great time, but were disappointed as well that he didn't do an encore, nor did he perform "Old Blue Chair". We can't wait for the real show with Jimmy at Pine Knob on the 10th !!!!

Not impressed with Kenny in concert this time? D'oh!
He is going to be in town this Thursday and I, too, am using Kenny as the Buffett pre-season warm up.
Hopefully he'll make a few changes to his next show... that, or I should just drink myself into a stupor and skip it all together!

Don't drink yourself into a stupor - unless you have the "shiftwork section" tickets, you're paying all of your hard-earned money! The tailgating was great, saw a LOT of ParrotHeads in spring training. The stage was huge & the lighting was awesome, but the song selection we thought was better last year. The highlight of the show for us was "Anything but mine" and also the intro was real cool make shure your in your seat for that.
Hope you enjoy the show, though! It was a overall good time.
fourteen days and counting 'till Pine Knob !!!!

Was a bit disappointed in Kenny's part of the show.
Way too many, never been drunk in public types for my taste.
All In All a great time.

They've been releasing tickets sometimes just to the side of the stage at a discounted price a couple of weeks prior to the show. I bought those for Grand Rapids because we were skipping this year and the 70 dollar price tag. When they opened up those seats for the last 2 weeks for 20 dollars we decided to go.

You mean there are still people who have never been drunk in public still?

The shiftwork sections in Cleveland were in the corners of the upperdeck of the stadium. They set aside a couple of sections of seats I think they were $ 29.00 total with tm fees. And release them about 3 weeks before the show. This way if you don't want to pay the 99.50 price tag. for a lower deck or field seats. You can still see the show. And the name "shiftwork section" comes from one of his songs.

So I just got back from the Kenny Chesney concert in San Diego and I have to admit, this thread got me really worried he was going to s*** in concert this time. But I must admit, it was a pretty damn good show.
He sang all his big hits, including Old Blue Chair, and he did two encores of Anything But Mine and Tractor... so all in all I was pleased. Plus, Uncle Kracker made a guest spot for a few songs since Leann Rimes was a no show. They sang When the Sun Goes Down, Follow Me, Drift Away together... and I believe Kenny brought Jake Peavy on stage, but that was in the height of my drunken stupor so it is a bit fuzzy.
Throw in the killer tailgating and I have to admit, it was one of the best Thursdays I've had in a while... even got a little too excited at How Forever Feels when the line "Now I know how Jimmy Buffett feels" as a few Parrotheads that were roamed by me in the lots earlier and got me excited for October 16th...
Jimmy Buffett for President!

Sounds like you got a lot better show then we did in Cleveland. Glad you enjoyed it.

It definitely sounds like Kenny was making up for the fact that Leann Rimes didn't play. Do you know why she didn't show up? Was she sick or something? Just curious.
At least you got to see a really great Kenny show.

According to the news Leann pulled out due to strained vocal chords and that her doctors told her to rest immediately... it was kind of a bummer not getting to see her, but Kenny filled the time and Uncle Kracker made an appearance so it all worked out and ended up still being a great show.

Last year the KC show as great. Sugarland made it special. Not so excited about Leanne Rimes instead but it won't stop me from going.
Tight jeans, sleeveless tees and cowboy hats, yeeha! ......can't get any better than that, eh!
