I just got home from work. Downloaded them and am rocking out.
Couple things so far... the "be a couch potato, play Rock Band all day" through me for a loop in Volcano, haha.
It's HILARIOUS to see the convulsive band movements (from rock songs) during Buffett. It's also funny seeing a pink-haired grunge rock girl singing Buffett.
I have only tried the guitar parts to each song and they are VERY EASY on medium, and REALLY hard on hard for me.
Off to sing... previously I would only sing Oasis.

Singing - Medium Difficulty
1st off, I am terrible, terrible singer. I never learned how and am not a gifted singer.
I picked up 3 1/2 stars on Volcano and Cheeseburger.
I kept getting booed off stage in Margaritaville.
I think I sang better when I didn't watch the words or pitch on the screen. I've been singing these songs a long time now, I should know them

I'm playing on the Xbox 360. It's a little cheaper

I don't even own the Drums. My wife says we don't have room to store them, ha!

Sounds like Parrothead Economics 101 to me!
Parrothead Economics 101 - Class Description:
Teaching you how to justify any expense to complete your Jimmy Buffett collection, regardless of the pain it may cause you in other parts of your life.

(I never know what to say during the first post on these sites.)
Alright, I fully admit up front that I'm not what you'd refer to as a true parrothead, I'm just a stony 24 year old who digs laid back music and who plays Rock Band too much. (You'll see what I mean in a second).
I post quite a bit on a website called "
Scorehero" which basically started out as a website for fans of the game "Guitar Hero" and grew to incorporate later versions of Guitar Hero, and finally Rock Band. The best of the best play there.
I just got done playing the Buffet songs, and it was absolutely blissful. Part of me wondered what Jimmy's loyal fans thought of it (and the fact that he re-recorded it with some slightly trickier parts and a bonus lyric) and found this thread.
Anyway, to the point of all this.
My specialty is known as "pathing." Basically, I figure out exactly where people should activate "overdrive" (it's those white notes in the videos.) which doubles your score. (Since there's more notes in some places than others, activating in certain places gets you a better score.)
If anyone can give me a description of how the concert contests work (is it one player, play as a band, etc.) I can probably give you guys some paths that would maximize your chances of winning. (You still have to play the song, obviously.)
I dunno, I'm a bit snorched and I thought it would be a good idea. I'll keep an eye on this thread/forum and see if anyone can find out more info from a concert or two.

I downloaded the pack today and played guitar and sang vocals on all three on medium.
I scored five stars on each. The lyric changes in some of the songs take a while to get used to. When you're used to listening to them a certain way, the original recordings throw you off a bit.

I think I could do expert on every one of Jimmy's songs
Funny thing is I played in a Rock Band "competition" (I say this loosely because there weren't many competitors.... I managed 92% on easy on gimme shelter... not bad for only my fifth time playing overall...)

Those of you that want to bite the bullet, but haven't yet, Wal-Mart is giving a $100 gift card with the purchase of a PS3 this week, so you've got $100 you can put towards Rock Band.

This is awesome!!! You've been a member for three years, and this is what you make your first post about!!

I am not being sarcastic, I think it's hysterical!! Welcome to the madness.
And no, I don't know where there are downloads.

Sorry.

Rock Band is out for the Wii, but it doesn't have the capability to download new songs.
You'll need the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 version in order to play Jimmy's songs in Rock Band, unless Rock Band 2 (recently announced) allows the other consoles to download new songs.
