Buffett to Appear on new Little Feat album
From Marketwire: Little Feat Throws a Party With New "JOIN THE BAND"
Little Feat teams with guest artists Jimmy Buffett, Dave Matthews, Vince Gill, Chris Robinson, Emmylou Harris, Brooks & Dunn, Bob Seger, Inara George, Sonny Landreth and others on a new album called "JOIN THE BAND". The album is produced by Bill Payne and Mac McAnally is is available in stores August 26th.
"JOIN THE BAND" features some of Little Feat's classic tunes -- "Fat Man in the Bathtub," "Dixie Chicken," "Sailing Shoes," "Oh, Atlanta" -- re-recorded with creative friends like Dave Matthews and Jimmy Buffett among many others (see above), as well as new material like Woody Guthrie's "This Land Is Your Land."
"JOIN THE BAND" was an idea born in 2004 just after original Little Feat keyboardist Billy Payne had played on Jimmy Buffett's chart topping album, "License to Chill." Jimmy suggested flying the band out to his Shrimp Boat Sound studios in Key West to put together the all star project that had been planned for years prior. With the production team of Payne and Buffett associates Mac McAnally and Alan Schulman in place, the project began to take shape.
Jimmy Buffett shares lead vocal on two songs: "Champion of the World" (along with Paul Barrere) and "Time Loves a Hero" (along with Bill Payne).

Hey Snake, we need more wine!

As a Little Feat fan, I was anxious to hear details of their upcoming album "Join the Band". And when I heard the album was recorded at Shrimpboat Sound and included JB on a few songs I thought: "This is getting better!"
Now, after hearing some of the audio clips and seeing the song list I must admit I'm a bit disappointed that this album is, for the most part, a repeat of so many other Feat albums. I fully realize that JB has made a career of re-releasing material, but I guess I was really hoping for a collection of new, original music from this group with so much musical talent........
Maybe, in time, I'll break down and buy the new CD, but for now there are some by other artists that will be added to my collection first......

On August 17th they are playing in Fort Collins !! Yep i get to go see one of my favorite bands in the park for a free show!!! Is that the last show of the tour?
