Jimmy's John Prine cover

Last nights Atlanta concert final song-Big Ole Goofy Man. Can anyone speculate where Jimmy doing that might have come from? I am at least as big a Prine fan as I am a Buffett fan. I guess Jimmy has only done a Prine cover one other time. I am really curious as to why that particular one was done. Usually Jimmy will say something (like thank you John Prine) or connect the song in some way. That was one of the weirdest (and best) endings JB has ever done. Any ideas?

I think I'm a bigger fan of John Prine than of any other musician, Jimmy included. I would've loved to have heard that ...... It's A Big Old Big Old Goofy World.

Not to be a smart aleck but why ask why? Does there really need to be any reason behind why he performed it, just be glad he did (and that it wasn't something atrocious like Glory Days).

Was never a huge John Prine fan until I saw him live last December, NOW I`M HOOKED!!!

Just looked on JP's web site for tour dates. Tonight JP's playing Red Rocks with Emmy Lou Harris
That would be freaking AMAZING!!!

Yeah - In light of Dan Fogelberg's passing, I'm hoping Jimmy will play a song for his Domino College cohort on this year's tour.
