 I vividly remember his coverage of Secretariat winning the Triple Crown.
He was a great fan as well as a great sportscaster.
Sail on Mr. McKay.

But me, I just want to live happily ever after every now and then.

I loved his voice.

Who can forget his coverage of the Munich Olympics?

Sail on, Mr. McKay.

Sail on Jim. I, too grew up with Wide World of Sports. It was revolutionary in its time. He was a true gentleman and always added a sense of class to sports - something not always seen today. How ironic he passed today on the day Big Brown may become the first Triple Crown winner in 30 years. I can still remeber all those years of him calling the Kentucky derby on ABC. He will truly be missed.

...The thrill of victory
The agony of defeat...

Sail on Jim. You taught us all that "sports" means so much more than baseball, basketball and football. You are already missed.

The Munich Olympics, the Derby and so many other memorable moments.

His 16 hours straight covering the horror in Munich was memorable for the horror of the story, and the calm manner in which he led the coverage.

He and his voice will be missed!
