Looking forward to meeting you Alan and Noreen and also everyone else.
If it is like last year in Paris it will be absolutely fantastic!!! If we had been certain he was playing at Paris this year we could have saved all the money it is costing for the trip to Las Vegas and San Francisco - but to see Jimmy 3 times in two months it will be worth it. Wonder what Jimmy is doing on the Saturday night in Paris?

Do you want me to look into the cost of t-shirts or where you thinking of 'badges' etc? I still have my BN tag from Tampa....britparrothead wrote:We should have a P.H.U.K id. so we know who we are looking for?
I still have the original pics that were made up.....
I had a super t-shirt made up following the Paris show last year (as there was nothing on sale at the venue) It has 'He went to Paris' on the front and then the original poster decal on the back. It didnt cost much to do....
Let me know - it will be great to meet you at last

I just checked and round trip to Tahiti on air france is $1695.00LIPH wrote:I may just do that. I went to Paris last year, I've never been to Tahiti. Besides, I'd rather hang out with you and Carol then Kevin.ScarletB wrote:Save your money for Tahiti Larry. Continental has a 1 stop flight that's about $100 cheaper but it's JFK/Houston/Paris and the trip goes from 7 hours to 15 1/2. Thank you, no.
thats not too bad.

Hotel Advice
Someone mentioned earlier in this conversation a recommendation on a hotel near the Opera House. I'll take any advice out there on places to stay. Last year we stayed on Ile Saint Louis but our budget won't take that this year.

Re: Hotel Advice
Last year we stayed near the Opera at Hotel Cordelia which we could recommend and this year we are staying at the Best Western Hotel Folkestone Opera for 2 nights. If you travel by the Roissy bus from Charles de Gaulle airport then the bus stops outside the Opera which is convenient for any hotels near the Opera. To get to the New Morning you need only to get the Metro to Strasbourg St Denis and it is not very far to the New Morning.melaniebritt wrote:Someone mentioned earlier in this conversation a recommendation on a hotel near the Opera House. Check out the Best Western site as there are two BW's on the same road as the New Morning. We stayed in one of them last year. The rooms were small by american standards but clean and quiet.
We were already planning to be in Paris from the 21st with some friends so am now in the process of trying to add an extra couple of days to our stay. If that doesnt work will probably go for the BW again. It was a few minutes walk from the venue - or stagger if you had been in the bar over the road!!
Michelle - it will be good to meet you at last! This year we will at least know the routine and maybe we can come up with a parisian form of tailgating......... How about some decorated tables at Starbucks??

Re: Hotel Advice
I stayed at a place called the Golden Tulip Opera de Noailles, it's a few blocks from the Opera House. I booked it last year through British Airways at ba.com and it was cheaper than going directly through the hotel's website. It was $240/night last year, when I checked last week after this show was announced it was $213/night. I didn't look at the hotel's website but last year it was something like 260 euros/night if I had booked directly with the hotel so it's cheaper through British Airways.melaniebritt wrote:Someone mentioned earlier in this conversation a recommendation on a hotel near the Opera House. Hey guys!
I live in Engalnd and got tickets for the show last week! (Y)
This will be my first Jimmy Buffett show after been a fan for abnout 5 years!...at last!
I will be flying from England to Paris (Charles de Gaulle) and staying at a hotel which is about a 5-10min walk from the venue, its;
New hotel Gare du Nord. This hotel is also only about a 2 minute walk from the Gare du Nord train station. There is a direct train to this station from the airport that only takes 15min!
Thought that maybe helpful to anyone coming over from the states
Thanks
Adam
