Maybe Jimmy can take it, but I'm too old for that "stuff"
What's the official line on the reason?
there was an intermission in Raleigh... that was where Sonny Landreth was playing
Not hardly. I know some went at that time...but that was a highlight of the show....though Rocky and I were the only two in our section that seemed not only know the words, but seems thrilled to see Sonny.
We had to explain to several folks who he was and the fact that he wrote the song he was playing with Jimmy in the first place!!
However WDWGD seemed to be the real intermission song.

I never leave my seat during intermission, so it's fine with me.

He did the same thing last year in Vegas and Irvine, don't like it, but that seems to be what he does now. At Irvine missed several songs, waiting in the bathroom line, and my sister got to observe two women get into a knock down drag out fight over who's first inline for the bathroom, fists were thrown and blood flowed. My poor sis was in between them and yelled, "I'm too old for this sh!t". Yes he should go back to a regular intermission.......really the fight has nothing to do with intermission, but it makes for a good story........

No, at Irvine last year he took an intermission from 7 o’clock to 7:20.

I crack myself up.

Okay, but me and my 16 year old who wasn't drinking, (I hope) both remember no intermission at Irvine. Are we crazy? Wouldn't be the first time......

that may be your view, but when the headliner takes a break, that would seem to be "intermission". No Jimmy, you see where this is going.

Re-read that post, and note the
time that rich says he took a break!

No break at MSG and it was no problem. People were coming and going because as they say...when you gotta go you gotta go!

He stopped taking intermissions sometime during the end of last year's tour. What's the big deal? A lot of musicians don't take intermissions.

Does a rain delay count?

I liked not having an intermission. It kept the show moving.
And I would say he played overall just as long as he always has, only we now get out a little earlier. Worked just fine for us.

Agreed. I don't mind the absence of an intermission. It just means better management of "fluid intake" prior to the show........

You know, I went to see Bon Jovi and Tom Petty recently and I don't remember people complaining that they didn't take an intermission. Actually, I prefer it without an intermission. I like it when he allows his band to take over for a couple of songs, or like last year when he had the guy from Cape Verde (I think it was) to play a couple of songs in the middle of the show so he can get exposure to the American audience.

Once Jimmy took his very first intermission, he opened this can of worms, even if he never did another. The simple fact is, most people drunk..and even those sober..want to prolong the event as much as possible. I know I do, and I am sober, especially since I only get there once a year. And I entirely buy into recharging my batteries for part 2!

All good songs to take a leak during.
Then again, if you're too drunk, then what does it matter what you miss? Get drunk at home where you can put it on pause. Paying that much money to see JB and the band and being loaded is, to me, a waste of money.

exactly.
and it works MUCH better than the human surge that clogs the lines at "intermission".
I always use CIP and the Nadira song as perfect to take a stroll...

Did I see from the Alpine setlist that there was an intermission last night? You never know with Jimmy.......
Glad to see the addition of the "lost verse" in Margaritaville along with special guest Fingers Taylor again!

Same here, although I always wait until AFTER OPH, I'd be royally p*ssed at myself if I were in line at the ladies and heard "Hula Hula!"
