I bet this is the happiest day in Phil's life :D

After the way Phil played in the Open, he better worry more about his game then what everyone else is doing! I love Phil and wish he would of won, but to play that bad on your home course... WOW
i wonder how the rest of the PGA tour players feel after hearing this and him winning basically on one leg!!.....also The PGA and the TV networks will take a hit in ratings!!

The ratings may fall, but this could actually make the FedEx Cup interesting.

I've never been a Tiger fan (too much hype, too early--although it has proved out that he was worth every bit of it), but, I respect him more and more each year. From the chip on 16 at Augusta a couple of years ago, to seeing him gut out yet another major, his physical and mental prowess are both incredible to watch.

tiger should have whatever surgery he needs. He is still young, he has a LONG career ahead of him.. I had arthroscopic surgery on my knee at 50 years old and was skiing six weeks later so I don't think surgery at his age will hamper his career in any way, even taking a year off.

He'll be fine. I had an ACL replacement when I was 40, and look how good I turned out. Seriously, though, I was playing softball six months later. With his rehab regiment and his relatively young age, he should be strong as ever. But as mentioned, it's the torque when twisting that will be the most troublesome. He'll freak the first time he hears that scar tissue popping.
You're older than 40?!?!?! NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He probably won't be back until at least after the 2009 Masters. Wouldn't be surprised if he didn't play until at least next years U.S. Open.
