When my son was young, he was instructed to call everyone Mrs or Mr unless told otherwise.
I hated when his friends called me Ms. Absolutely hated it. I asked them to call me by my name, and some did but they mostly all called me mom.
but then I'm not your normal kool aid mom kinda parent either

My dad is Mr., not me. If I hear "Mr. Duncan" I usually assume they're talking about him and not me.
I really don't care what people call me, as long as it's not "jerkface"
Times are changing, a lot of my kids' teachers have them call them "Mrs. (firstname)", instead of the standard "Mrs. (Lastname)" when I was in school. I try to get my kids to use Mr./Mrs. unless told otherwise by the person.

By other peoples' kids?
I don't care - as long as they aren't rude (I don't consider a ten year old addressing me by my first name to be rude).

Our kids are young enough that I'm still "Joe's Mom" or "Katherine's Mom" to the kids at school.
Our friends kids call us Miss Mary Kay and Mr. Joe. The respect is there and so is the informality.
I hate it when a kid calls an adult Aunt or Uncle when there is not real relationship there. I think that is rude on the side of the parent. (IMO)

I prefer that kids call me Mr. Henderson. Which is odd, because that's not my name.
Actually, I really don't mind what I'm called. But what I never cared for was kids calling every close family friend Aunt or Uncle. (not blaming the kids, usually the parents tell them to use the term) Not only do I think it confuses the kids, but I think
real aunts & uncles deserve a special place. They're blood. Close family friend Al Smith should be Mr. Smith or Al or something, but he's not Uncle Al. IMO

I'm old fashioned too, I suppose...
I raised my kids to say Mr. & Mrs. as I believe it is a matter of respect.
Their friends have always addressed us that way too.
However there is an interesting twist to this now...
I work part time in a small store and the owner just hired a friend of my daughter's to work for the summer.
Since we are all on a first name basis there, I would be fine with her using mine and skipping the "Mrs." bit to help her fit in.

I prefer to be addressed "Here's your beer, sir."

I have to disagree on this. When I was growing up we had 3 sets of family friends who we were very close to, we spent holidays with them and most of my best childhood memories involve them. I called the adults Aunt and Uncle and our friends kids called my parents Aunt and Uncle. I thought it was very touching years later when we were all grown and it was still "Aunt Thelma and Uncle Dick" In fact I was much closer to these people than my actual Aunt and Uncle, so in our case it worked. However, I'd have to agree, just doing it for the sake of doing it is kind of dumb.

My best friend and his wife refer to me as "Uncle Jack" when talking to their son, which is funny because my brother's kid refer to me as "That pr**k that never comes to visit."

My daughter refers to several of our friends as "Uncle" and "Aunt".....and they treat her like a niece......she's seen her biological uncle MAYBE four times in her entire life. It feels very appropriate for us, but we're a pretty tight knit group.
I prefer to be called by my first name. I do have some friends from the south and their daughters call me Miss Paige and it makes my heart melt every time they say it!

I was Miss Debbie to my school kids when I taught school, and I'm still Miss Debbie to my son's friends even though I am a Mrs.

For the most part, my son refers to other adults by Mr./Mrs. (lastname), except for BN friends, who he may call by their first names or their screen names.
My Best Friend's (of 35 years) keets call me "Aunt" & my son calls her "Aunt", since my sister passed away she's the closest thing to an Aunt he has on my side of the family.
He also calls a couple of my (Adult) cousins Aunt/Uncle, simply because we don't feel it's appropriate for him to call them by their first name alone, and Mr./Mrs. seems too formal for close family.

HMMM I think I prefer to be called as I am introduced..
if Mom and Dad say.. "Meet Wayne" then I am OK..
If they say "Meet the sponge who is drinking your college money"
not so good..

We raised our boys to call adults Mr. and Mrs. out of respect. I ran into my high school drafting teacher and could not call him by his first name. We have some very close friends who's gilrs call me Uncle Dan.

My own niece calls me Uncle Dork

I still insist I'm much more of a goober than a dork.
