exactly, Chip.
I can't stand the MGM Grand Arena, but the pre-party that USED to happen in the pool area/backyard of the hotel was EPIC
Naturally, I have to chime in with SAN DIEGO/Irvine (whichever stop he picks that year)
We've been a sold-out venue for Jimmy for over 25 years, and he even put us in a song!
When the volcano blows, you don't hear him sing about landing in Cincinnati!!

Orlando's an indoor venue too, but I put it on my list anyway because I've been there 3 times and it's a really good tailgate. Especially when the King Of The Frozen Drinks, z-man, is there.chippewa wrote:I'm ruling out Vegas just because it's an indoor venue. It's like baseball on Astroturf, it just ain't right.

Of the other places I have seen shows, Chicago, Jones Beach, Tampa, Vegas, Hartford, Boston (Fenway and Garden), Foxboro, NY and I am missing a couple more.... none of them are good enough to be #4.

I fail to understand why The Gorge at George isn't among anyones lists.
It's one of the most beautiful settings you would ever want to see.
Plus there's a campground directly across the road from it that allows you a better tailgate experience then you would ever imagine.

Red Rocks occurred to me, only based on what I've heard, and not on experience. But I'm thinking this isn't a best ever thread, rather a top 4 of still regular stops.pair8head wrote:I fail to understand why The Gorge at George isn't among anyones lists.

I've never been, but should Tampa be considered?

It's nothing out of the ordinary, but nice. You'd think a list like this would have a Florida venue, or at least a warm weather one.Tiki Bar wrote:Red Rocks occurred to me, only based on what I've heard, and not on experience. That one I have been to, happily! It is a splending setting for a Buffett show, but again, it's not every year.chippewa wrote:And I've never been, but the warm weather location could be the Waikiki Beach Shell.

Not much of a tailgate either since you have to go someplace offsite. No tailgating in the parking lot.Tiki Bar wrote:That one I have been to, happily!
