Help! In Need of a Pet Transportation Service!

Post by Jodibug »

Any suggestions/advice appreciated. Parrotheads know everbody and everything so I figured it was worth a shot . . .

We have fallen in love with Max, a 10 month old Brittany Spaniel. We were just approved late Friday night to adopt him.

Problem is, he is located in Cincinnati and we are in Savannah, GA. I am trying everything to find a partial transport.

Commercial airlines are out due to 85 degree embargo. Just trying to explore volunteer transport services whether it be by private plane or car. If anyone has used one, please let me know.

HELP!! We want to get our boy :D

If I can make it to Cin-Cinn for the show I will bring him back to SC and

maybe right on down to 'vannah.

You might try goggling, find several rescue sites, how many it takes, and have Max channeled down through to you in Savannah...

they're usually eager to help anyone that takes a rescue...

I do have a good friend that is very involved in rescue, let me know if you want me to see what she suggests...

A Brit Spaniel, my first dog ever was a Brit Spaniel, black and white...Skipper,

I have been looking/posting all day . . . it's amazing how many good pholks are out there just driving their hearts out to transport animals.

That would be great . . . it has seemed meant to be until today . . . patience and faith and some effort on my part has made me feel better and productive :D

I was hoping you were going to say New England. I'd have loved to help Max get to his new home!

I have no doubt it will happen. Most organizations that work with therapy dogs are glad to help, too.

I'm not trying to be a smart-azz or anything but did you attempt to Google your needs. The first page was full of companies that handle pet transit.

I also was wondering about the actual companies. I'd be willing to donate a few bucks to help offset the cost to get the baby to its new home.

Jodi, did you look here? http://network.bestfriends.org/

They have a network and a forum...I'm thinking that there are probably several people there that might be able to help you out and steer you in the right direction. It's certainly worth a shot, especially since members are nationwide. :D

Thanks kiddo beans!! BNer's are the bestest.

A very tough decision was made this morning . . . sparing all of you the detail . . . fur baby needs to stay in Ohio. He has a lot of applications on him and I know he will find a forever home there.

I learned a lot about transport groups and their amazing efforts; I might help out some after seeing what they do for all animals!
