Looks like Daniels is done for the Redskins. I am seeing rumors on some of the Redskins fans blog sites that Jason Taylor has been traded to the Redskins for a second round pick. Not sure if this is true or just a rumor.

TAYLOR TO REDSKINS FOR SECOND-ROUND PICK
Posted by Michael David Smith on July 20, 2008, 6:30 p.m.
Jay Glazer of Fox Sports is reporting that the Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins have agreed to the terms of a trade that would send defensive end Jason Taylor to Washington in exchange for a second-round draft pick.
The teams are hoping to finalize the deal tonight, Glazer reports.
Taylor has long been disgruntled with the Dolphins and would like to play for a team that isn’t coming off a 1-15 record. Rumors swirled in April that he could be traded during the NFL draft, but no trade was consummated.
The Redskins, however, suddenly became interested in acquiring Taylor when they lost two defensive ends to season-ending injuries at the outset of training camp.

YEA! Now go sign 1st rounder Laws! from profootballtalk.com...
EAGLES INK DESEAN JACKSON
Posted by Mike Florio on July 20, 2008, 9:59 p.m.
With training camp opening on July 21, the Eagles have gotten the second of their second-round picks under contract.
Cal receiver DeSean Jackson, an undersized speedster who could become a Steve Smith-style presence in Philly, has inked a four-year deal.
Jackson is expected to contribute right away (as Smith did seven years ago) on special teams. On offense, Jackson likely will get started as a slot receiver. If he can stand up to the physicality of NFL football, he could eventually climb a couple spots higher on the depth chart.
Still unsigned for the Eagles is defensive tackle Trevor Laws, the team’s first second-round pick.

Saints acquire Shockey for draft picks
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By John Clayton
ESPN.com
Sean Payton's persistence finally won out. The New Orleans Saints acquired Jeremy Shockey for a second- and a fifth-round draft pick in 2009.
The deal was first reported by FOXSports.com.
The Saints had been trying since February to acquire the disgruntled New York Giants tight end. First, they offered a second-round pick. Before the draft, they increased the offer to a second- and a fifth-round draft choice, but the Giants felt he was too valuable to lose until a few days before the start of their training camp.
As Payton and Saints general manager Mickey Loomis did their last few minutes of office work before heading to Jackson, Miss., for Wednesday's start of training camp, they received a call from the Giants saying that Shockey was theirs.
Even through the weekend, the Saints tried to broker a deal for Shockey. On Sunday, they tried to get in the middle of the Jason Taylor trade to see if there was a way they could make a three-way deal that brought them Shockey, according to multiple sources. Taylor went to the Washington Redskins for a second-round pick in 2009 and a sixth-rounder in 2010.
Shockey, 28, a four-time Pro Bowler, has 371 catches for 4,228 yards and 27 touchdowns during his six-year NFL career. He grew disgruntled with the Giants because he wanted to be more involved with some downfield passing. The Giants valued his run blocking.
Payton was an offensive coordinator with the Giants during Shockey's rookie season. He caught 74 passes for 894 yards that season.

Please excuse me for butting in to your thread.
I'm from England and consequently know nothing about your "football" (soccer or rugby over here) but I'm always up for a wager so... here goes.
Who can reliably predict who will win the league(s) - are there two? And more importantly, the Superb Bowl thing!
Put your favoritism aside please, I want to put a bet on who will win but need some astute guidance.
I hear the Dallas cheerleaders are good (Alan Jackson said so) so maybe the Cowboys. I've been to Chicago so...the Cubs? (just kidding)
Been to Miami, NYC, Toronto (I know, I know), San Fran, Tampa, Nashville (do they have a team?), Vegas (surely they don't?) and Key West (they definitely don't!)
Seriously though, who do you think will come through?

Well, it depends. It is hard to predict who will win. Dallas does have a good team on paper. Given the players and how they performed recently, that's all the basis. My bias is with the Washington Redskins but not sure if they will make it.Westway001 wrote:Please excuse me for butting in to your thread.
