LB, I'm surprised you'd want Gruden in San Diego. I haven't been impressed with him, and feel he's underachieved with the talent he's had.
Also, I was on the SI site and Jay Novacek is picking the Cards to beat the Eagles.

Sort of feels like Warner's first Super Bowl in STL. That would be HUGE for the AZ peeps.C-Dawg wrote:LB, I'm surprised you'd want Gruden in San Diego. I haven't been impressed with him, and feel he's underachieved with the talent he's had.

I wonder if the 49'ers just might be second guessing their decision to go with Singletary now that Shanny, Gruden and Holmgren are available?

I think Singletary is going to be a great coach, and the Niners won't be disapointed.Tequila Revenge wrote:Sort of feels like Warner's first Super Bowl in STL. I think Singletary ended the season 4 - 3 I think, so it wasn't that bad of a choice.Tequila Revenge wrote:Sort of feels like Warner's first Super Bowl in STL. If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Life is short, live long!!
I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

Re: 2008 NFL Season
Reports are that last weekend the NY Jets interviewed Baltimore's assistant head coach & defensive coordinator Rex Ryan for their head coaching vacancy......I didn't think coaches could interview as long as their current team is in the playoffs??????
It's just a matter of time until Rex gets his shot as a head coach and I wish him well. But, if he did interview in the middle of a playoff run you've got to wonder where his real priorities are at the moment......

Re: 2008 NFL Season
I think they could as long as they get permission from the team. Usually teams won't allow it if they are still playing in the playoffs since it will be a distraction.Bfan53again wrote:Reports are that last weekend the NY Jets interviewed Baltimore's assistant head coach & defensive coordinator Rex Ryan for their head coaching vacancy......I didn't think coaches could interview as long as their current team is in the playoffs??????![]()

I go through and read all these posts about great teams and I am sitting in New Zealand thinking about what could've/should've been with my Detroit Lions. It's hard to admit that I am a Lions fan, but in order to heal I have to admit it, right? I am a Lions fan! I am a Lions fan! I am a Lions fan? It doesn't get any easier and I have a feeling it never will. Bring on the #1 pick!

Defensive coordinator Rex Ryan said yesterday that he has heard nothing more from either the St.Louis Rams or the New York Jets about their head coaching vacancies.
The Rams announced they have eliminated interim coach Jim Haslett from consideration and might be close to a decision. Ryan had interviews with both teams Sunday, hours after the 13-10 win over the Titans. Various reports have indicated Ryan is a prime candidate for the Jets' job.
I still find it unusual for Ryan to interview with the Ravens still in the playoffs (next Monday should be no problem for him though......

I agree, but then again, these play-off games are perhaps the biggest part of any job interview he will have this offseason. I wonder how much Giants DC Spagnuolo's stock has fallen after the Giants/Eagles game.Bfan53again wrote:From today's edition of the Baltimore Sun :aeroparrot wrote:I think they could as long as they get permission from the team. Now that's funny...but the sad thing is, and every Lions fan knows this, we wouldn't be surprised if the Lions took a WR or a long snapper with the first pick. Hell, both are positions we could use upgrading in. I kid because I love.SuperTrooper wrote:Are there any good wide receivers in this draft?NZParrothead58 wrote:I go through and read all these posts about great teams and I am sitting in New Zealand thinking about what could've/should've been with my Detroit Lions. I think they had tried with Harrington. What they actually need is a franchise running back first and then get a QB that will manage the game and not screw up.AdamBomb8 wrote:Lions really need to start by drafting a franchise QB then build from there.NZParrothead58 wrote:Now that's funny...but the sad thing is, and every Lions fan knows this, we wouldn't be surprised if the Lions took a WR or a long snapper with the first pick.
