If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Saints bounce back this year with an easier schedule. Top three teams are all solid enough to take the division. Atlanta still wishes it had never traded the draft pick that became LaDanien Tomlinson.
It won't be fact until January...
I like you pick BUT
I just hope the Saint’s get running in the right direction

With Pennington at QB, maybe they would have won 5 or 6 games. With Favre, maybe they'll win 7. They weren't going to make the playoffs anyway, this just sets them back another season. what I really mean . . . I wish you were here
I am not sure that he has nothing left. He is still a better quarterback than most others in the league. He maybe old, but he is still a threat. Personally I would have preferred to see him go to Tampa. The Jets are a better team with him on the roster. But will he gel with the team, and learn the offense in time to be effective in the first few weeks of the season?LIPH wrote:Why would they want Favre? They're a lousy team and he has nothing left. Enjoy the big City and media Favre. This ain't Green Bay or Mississippi where your every move isn't scrutinized in the rags. Worked well for Randy Johnson coming to NY at a similar point in his career.green1 wrote:I am not sure that he has nothing left. He is still a better quarterback than most others in the league. I have to agree with Larry, The Packers were worried that they would get the Favre from 2 & 3 years ago, not last years! Jets are rebuilding but they don't have the wide outs like the pack has! Good Luck NYJ fans I hope it works out, but in the AFC you still have the Pats, Colts, Chargers and a lot more teams that are so much better this year. A 7-8 win season just gets you a mid round draft pick not in the PLayoffs!
Oh well, you should win more games then my Chiefs!

Maybe I should say that the season ticket waiting list will grow. Possibly for one or two years.Afternoon Golfer wrote:Maybe if this was baseball (a la Manny in LA) but even when the Jets stink (almost always) they are sold out.aeroparrot wrote:Ticket sales.LIPH wrote:Why would they want Favre? Favre picked apart my Chargers' shoddy secondary last season in GB, so I have some legitimate concerns about the matchup we face here in week 3.Joetown Parrothead wrote:LIPH wrote:With Pennington at QB, maybe they would have won 5 or 6 games. That is gonna be one crazy home game. I saw the Jets when they were here back in '04, and it was a wild scene with the huge number of Jets fans showing up

Because he is an upgrade. And they gave up very little to get him. Yes it will help with season tickets for the new stadium and the PSL's, but in the grand scheme of things he is a better QB than Pennington or Clemons.LIPH wrote:Why would they want Favre? The Jets have a good offensive line, and good offensive skill players. And Favre allows the Jets to open up the field which is something Pennington could never do.
Look at the schedule.
@ MIAMI, NE, @ SD - Jets open 1-2, maybe 2-1...
ARZ, CIN, @OAK, KC, @BUF, STL - Jets could easily go 5-1 thru this stretch
@NE, @TEN - 0-2, maybe 1-1
DEN, @SF, BUF, @SEA, MIA Easily 4-1, 3-2 to close out the season.
Add it up and it a very possible 9-10 win season. 10 wins won't lock up a playoff spot, but they will be there at the end.
Dumb and drunk as I was, you know I would do it all again.

Damn my Chiefs won a preseason game last night! Have to enjoy that, we might not win many during the season this year. Brodie at QB is not looking good! OL is real, real bad. Larry Johnson might want a trade if he has to run behind these guys all year!

The nice part is he won't remember this season. He'll be getting hit so hard he might not remember his name.Joetown Parrothead wrote:Damn my Chiefs won a preseason game last night! Pennington actually had one of the highest passer ratings for the Jets ever. And yes, that doesn't say much.Left Field ParrotHead wrote:Because he is an upgrade.
