Can anyone recommend a good tent that can be purchased for under $100?
We will be camping on the Outer Banks next week and are wanting a tent that can sleep at least three that you can stand-up in. A friend mentioned that they had a Coleman 7'x7' Sundome that they are using however it appears that you can't really stand up in it.. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!!!

Like Don said - Walmart.
They have a bunch that should fit your needs. I have a Coleman 9x9 that's about 6.5' high that I really like. I think I paid around $90 for it a few years ago.

I guess the standing up part depends on your height.

You get what you pay for, the cheap quality tents don't hold up well to wind and rain. I once bought a cheap tent and thought no big deal, until it rained and the tent leaked, one of the worst sleeping night I ever had, by the morning my pillow was like a sponge and I was soaked, sick and not happy. A moment didn't pass that night that I didn't wish I paid a few bucks more for a better quality tent.
Eddie Bauer tents are sold at Target and are real good but finding one that you can actually stand up in may cost more than a $100. I now have a 5-6 person Eddie Bauer tent that I can pretty much stand up in. It sleeps 2 and a 65 pound dog very, very comfortably (I assume the dog was comfortable, he didn't complain) with plenty of extra room for storage.
The one I have is similar to this one just a tad smaller... I think I paid about $140 for mine....

Realize that a 3 person tent is really not for 3 people + gear. It's more like for 2 people snugly.
We have a Coleman tent that has a screened in front porch - I love it!!

Until you want Don to turn it around.
We have a huge Coleman 8 man dome we've used for a while. Bought it at Target about 5 years ago and I doubt we septn more than $100.
We just inherited a Jeep 12 man tent from my FIL. Has two separate rooms and is actually bigger than my son's bedroom. I'm certain it was $100+++++

The porch should have been closer to the fire so I could have sat in it and still been around the others in the group.

I was wondering if you found something yet,
because Bonnaroo was already earlier this month, and you gotta know tents would be selling big time then!!

one of the best places are REI sales. if your a member you can get great deals, if its not a hassle try to check a few out. like said above, you get what you pay for. a cheap tent will leak and fall apart quickly. a nice tent will stay dry, and you will have it for a long time.
remember no matter what, camping is intents

agree - we got two on sale plus I think I had a coupon too and free shipping to the local store. They worked really nice at the Raleigh tailgate and had the nice wheel carrying case.

I'm with BB on this one. I go to work every day just so I DON'T have to live in a canvas house.
