Well, I just uploaded the artwork to the duplicators, and that was the last piece they needed. My new Trop Rock album, Every Day's a Holiday, is now on track for an August 1 release!
Featuring the saxophone wizardry of former Coral Reefer Tom "TC" Mitchell, I feel that this is definitely my best work to date.
The past several years have had their ups and downs for me, the type of challenges that a lot of us face - relationship troubles, funky job stuff, crazy traffic, and idjits with 16 items in the "15 item or less" lane. Most of the songs on this album are about how learning to choose a "Paradise state of mind" can help you cope with days, weeks, or even lives like that. The rest are just plain "kick off your shoes, pour a drink, and have some fun" type of singing. Because without days like that, what's the point?
Information on the album and links to song samples are now available at http://www.lorendavidson.com/music.htm. Just click on the album cover to get to the song insights and samples.
If you're going to Migration in Las Vegas the weekend of 7/25, you might be in luck! I am hoping - can't promise, but hoping - to have copies in hand for that phlocking. If I don't have the finished album, I'll have "promise" copies - buy the album and get a home-burned CD with the music, and I'll mail you the finished thing when I get 'em.
Shortly after release, the album will be available on CDBaby, iTunes, and Amazon.com, as well as on my own Website and at shows.
It was an honor and a joy to work with Tom and the other artists who helped fill out the sound of this album. And it will soon be my honor and pleasure to share it in its entirety with as many of you as find it interesting.
Today truly is the first holiday of the rest of your life.
Thanks for listening, and I'd love to know what you think,
Loren
