Post by litaljohn »

sorry if this was in the wrong forum, I thought it best fit in either here or in I suppose, related artists. I didn't notice any forum with cover or tribute bands as a topic source.

Anywho does anyone possibly know if in the New Jersey/Pennsylvania/NY area there is a band called the parrot heads?

I was at a friend's wedding just this Sunday in, what I called the middle of nowhere but i think the maps call it Sparta, NJ, and once there I found out the band hired to play the wedding was a buffett tribute band. I have to say they were pretty good and couldn't remember the band's name (it was a good wedding :D ) I think I remembered a big banner saying parrot heads, but also saw a smaller logo in front of the band of a clock with every hour hand being a 5 (after all it's always 5 O'clock somewhere) I was wondering if anyone knew of a tribute band by that title in that region, figured it was worth a shot in the dark

(sorry again if this is the wrong forum and thanks ahead of time)

These guys are out of the Sacramento area in CA. Doubt it was them, but if you ever have a chance to see Garratt, go do it!

They have an old coral reefer named Jay Spell, a steel drum player and once in a while Fingers plays with them.
They are good!!!!!

Here is a tribute band in the East Coast area that played a wedding Sunday, June, 29th called Parrotbeach. Possibly the one you saw?

i'm betting that is them!!! Parrotbeach are really great! They played the Trump Beach Bar after the Buffett show in AC last year and John Frinzi got up and played a few songs with them! [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

Another thought is that it could have been Jimmy and the Parrots. I think they are from that area.

Don't know who the band was but I do know Sparta, NJ.
Beautiful area with lots of lakes. Knew a gal there named Janeen.

Jimmy and the Parrots are from NJ. But it doesn't look like them based on the schedule. http://www.jimmyandtheparrots.com/index ... N=83470021

THANKS GUYS!!!

yeah it's definitely parrot beach, I recognize the guy on the left of their picture on their site....

plus my friend Glenn, who's wedding it was, is the owner of legends Harley in Ledgewood NJ, and their schedule mentioned a private "harley wedding"

they were a really fun band, even if i seemed to be the one person in the midst of some bikers and the old commish of NYC who was there, who knew the words.

(and for anyone who needs wedding favor ideas, " i crashed my friends wedding" shot glasses were a hilarious idea they used )

Thanks again guys, you're all the best!

I saw these guys too a few years back for "Beach Party Weekend" at Camelback Ski Area in PA. They were a lot of fun.

Hey I live in Newton (a few miles from Sparta) how come I wasn't invited?

For any fellow BN'ers from Long Island Parrotbeach will be playing an outdoor free show on the water in Island Park, Long Island Sunday July 6th at 7:30.
We had a great time there last year, they even allow you to drink at the park!

We'll miss you lilsalty & Continental Drifter III on Sunday, we'll tell Parrotbeach you said "hello"
