I'd love to. But the closest show to me is on a Monday. And got no $$.Hockey Mon wrote:
That makes 3 of us. I'm glad www.rush.com goes to the band's website. Anyone seeing them this go around of the Snakes and Arrows tour?

neither was Stern. But, he keeps the neocons off the street and glued to their radios muttering "ditto" for several hours a day, so there is some benefit.Bubbaphan wrote:Agreed. He ain't worth $4.00...much less 400 million. That's just nuts.rumdrinks wrote:I wasn't going to get on here, but I can't help it. Rush Limgaugh is a total A**hole period, there I said it. Good nite.

Given a choice, I'd GLADLY be willing to let my tax dollars help pay the $400 million dollars for Sir Rush.
That's a very small price to pay for such a treasure of Americana.
Hell, I'd much rather my tax $$$$ support HIM than some the a-holes who are too lazy or too stupid to go get a job.
At least Rush is doing good for the country.

there are some things we will never agree on, Garry
fortunately, we can agree that a cold beer and a Buffett tune are good things

Given a choice, I'd rather keep my tax dollars and use them to support american businessmen for goods and services. I think Rush would agree.Wino you know wrote:Given a choice, I'd GLADLY be willing to let my tax dollars help pay the $400 million dollars for Sir Rush.

I think you're exactly right because he's doing that exact same thing.Skibo wrote:Given a choice, I'd rather keep my tax dollars and use them to support american businessmen for goods and services. I think Rush would agree.
AND he shops at Wal Mart and K Mart.
AND he creates jobs. It's simple logic-rich people create jobs and employ people. Poor people don't.
Case closed.
Next topic please.

Who'd have thought that Rush Hindenberg would be a Hunter S. Thompson wannabe?z-man wrote:The New York Times has a long and surprisingly sympathetic interview with Rush Limbaugh in their online paper today.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/06/magaz ... -t.html?hp
This article will appear in this Sunday's Times Magazine.
Nigel Parry for The New York Times
At one time, Limbaugh did his program from a Midtown Manhattan skyscraper he dubbed, with tongue-in-cheek grandiosity, the Excellence in Broadcasting Building. These days, he mostly broadcasts out of a studio in Palm Beach, Fla., which he calls the Southern Command, and describes on the air as a “heavily fortified bunker.”
In fact, Limbaugh’s show emanates from a nondescript office building on a boulevard lined with tall palms. There isn’t even a security guard in the lobby. The elevator opens directly onto a pristine anteroom furnished in corporate glass and leather. An American flag stands in the corner. Only a small, framed picture of Limbaugh, bearing the caption “America’s Anchorman,” reveals that this is the headquarters of one of the country’s most admired and reviled figures.
If he can't even tell the truth about where he's broadcasting from...what does that say about the accuracy of anything *else* he says on-air?
Still...as someone else said...$38 mil a year will buy him plenty of drugs.

at least not directly... but you have to wonder about his being an apologist for them. I personally admire his gymnastic ability... only the India Rubber Man could go from "illegal drugs bad and their users need to be punished to the fullest extent of the law" to "oxycodone illegally-obtained good because it's me" back to "illegal drugs bad and their users need to be punished to the fullest extent of the law". that is some serious contortionism..z-man wrote:Ya gotta respect a man who can earn half a billion dollars without stealing it from shareholders the way the wall streeters and most CEOs do!Wino you know wrote:

You make a good point here and this is one of the issues that turned me off on Rushbo. I wonder though, if he had been the president of the united states and received a "personal favor" from an intern in his office that his wife didn't know about would you be so outraged?RinglingRingling wrote: at least not directly... but you have to wonder about his being an apologist for them.
