everytime i see the thread, the other rainy day woman song pops into my head....
by waylon jennings
Chorus:
Oh rainy day woman
I've never seem to see you for the good times or the sunshine
You have been a friend of mine, rainy day woman
That woman of mine she ain't happy
Unless she finds something wrong and has someone to blame
If it ain't one thing it's another one on the way
I woke up this morning to the sunshine
It sure as hell looks just like rain
I know where to go on a cloudy day
Chorus(x2).

The original of this song is terrible, Jimmy's cover is terrible. I can't imagine why he is so infatuated with it.

Last year at Alpine he played

you know it would be ok if he played 1-2 cover songs like when he only did covers of brown eyed girl and southern cross!! not 3-5 every single show!

When I first heard he was going to play Rainy Day Women my mind heard it as Rainy Day People...which is one of my favorite Gordon Lightfoot songs. I would LOVE to hear Jimmy play it. (sorry no covers fans)
Rainy day people always seem to know when its time to call
Rainy day people dont talk, they just listen till theyve heard it all
Rainy day lovers dont lie when they tell ya theyve been down like you
Rainy day people dont mind if youre cryin a tear or two
If you get lonely, all you really need is that rainy day love
Rainy day people all know theres no sorrow they cant rise above
Rainy day lovers dont love any others, that would not be kind
Rainy day people all know how it hangs on a piece of mind
Rainy day lovers dont lie when they tell you, theyve been down there too
Rainy day people dont mind if youre cryin a tear or two.
Rainy day people always seem to know when youre feeling blue
High stepping strutters who land in the gutters sometimes need one too
Take it or leave it, or try to believe it
If youve been down too long
Rainy day lovers dont hide love inside they just pass it on
Rainy day lovers dont hide love inside they just pass it on

While getting ready for work this morning, RM played the song by Loudon Wainwright III called "Dead Skunk (in the middle of the road)"......one of my personal all-time most disliked songs ever recorded.
For a brief moment, I pictured JB doing this song solo as a final encore at one of his concerts....
Talk about "covers that s***".........I just know I'll have a nightmare about this tonight!
