I agree with Larry, life is good!
Yeah, bottom line is you need to be happy with where you ARE - looking forward to fulfilling those dreams is great but not if you're thinking "THEN I'll be happy!" Gotta love the now.
Yep..There's a book by Spencer Johnson I have, and have probably given away over 100 copies as gifts...."The Precious Present"...and it is what Life is really about...

But making a "What If" list is kinda fun.....(if I had unlimited funds... I can't even type that with a straight face... )
Careful there girlfriend.. Don't go a choking on those words!!!

Actually, the "I lead such an exciting life" part was kind of sarcastic.

DISCLAIMER- Have NOT seen the movie.

BUT, I do not believe money can bring you happiness, and true happiness, (aka, bliss, wonder, magic, grace, fullness, etc.,) can and should be an expectation of every day we live on the big round ball! Last night about 1:30 AM I started thinking about this song:

Ive been lately thinking
About my lifes time
All the things Ive done
And how its been
And I cant help believing
In my own mind
I know Im gonna hate to see it end

Ive seen a lot of sunshine
Slept out in the rain
Spent a night or two all on my own
Ive known my ladys pleasures
Had myself some friends
And spent a time or two in my own home

And I have to say it now
Its been a good life all in all
Its really fine
To have a chance to hang around
And lie there by the fire
And watch the evening tire
While all my friends and my old lady
Sit and pass the pipe around

And talk of poems and prayers and promises
And things that we believe in
How sweet it is to love someone
How right it is to care
How long its been since yesterday
And what about tomorrow
And what about our dreams
And all the memories we share

The days they pass so quickly now
Nights are seldom long
And time around me whispers when its cold
The changes somehow frighten me
Still I have to smile
It turns me on to think of growing old
For though my lifes been good to me
Theres still so much to do
So many things my mind has never known
Id like to raise a family
Id like to sail away
And dance across the mountains on the moon

I have to say it now
Its been a good life all in all
Its really fine
To have the chance to hang around
And lie there by the fire
And watch the evening tire
While all my friends and my old lady
Sit and pass the pipe around

And talk of poems and prayers and promises
And things that we believe in
How sweet it is to love someone
How right it is to care
How long its been since yesterday
What about tomorrow
What about our dreams
And all the memories we share

Like others have said, the movie was pretty average.

Pretty neat idea, although actually I've had a "bucket list" for several years now - just didn't call it that.

I got the idea from APLA50... Jimmy basically has a bucket list in there, and I borrowed the idea.

Lessee, my list goes like this (I've already checked a few off, but these are still on there.)

1. Build a boat (ordering the plans this summer!)
2. Learn to fly.
3. Have a 50th wedding anniversary (18 and counting...)
4. Finish restoring my 72 Skylark convertible.
5. Drag race (real race track!)
6. Go on a month-long vacation.
7. Ride in a seaplane.
8. Write a book.
9. Travel the Caribbean.
10. Break 80 on a good golf course.

Better get started!

:D

We left the movie theatre just shortly after the movie started. I was very sad that the one man thought it was necessary to go around the world with a friend and leave his wife at home during his last 6 months on earth.

The last person I would leave after getting that news would be my husband. I would want to spend every last minute with him and all my family...

Therefore I can't think of a bucket list because the whole topic makes me sad.

We spend a lifetime of saying, 'oh I would like to do that' or ' that's something I am going to do'. The bucket list does not have to be something from your deathbed. You should start it now, with the ones you love.

As for the guy leaving his wife to do something he needed to do. More power to him. He did feel the guilt and went back home, he knew when it was time to. Whether it be guilt, money, courage or worrying about others. If I was in his shoes, I may have wanted to take my 'whoever' with me.

People do things certain ways because they need to, simple as that.

The reason Morgan Freeman left his wife for a short while is because he had lost his appreciation of her. Their marriage had become a habit, not a purpose. It was the "going away" that made him realize that his wife and family were really all that mattered in the end.

That being said, I've come up with a few items of my own... Now, of course, I understand the concept that money can not make you happy, but I must admit, many items on my list do require a bit of the green stuff and truth be told, a whole lot of money sure would make me happy right about now!

* Visit: New Orleans
The Gulf Coast
Hawaii
Napa Valley/N. California
Any or many beautiful tropical island(s)

* Be successful as a published author

* Write another novel

* Drive the Barbary Coast once again with Rick

* Return to Europe with a large budget

* Continually improve my french - complete fluency would be a bonus

* Attend my 80th High School Reunion :D

* Kick the sugar habit

* Spend time with Jimmy Buffett (My husband assures me this is possible... not too sure how I'll achieve this one, but I'll work on it!)
