Agreed. Some of the shots they were pulling off were simply stunning.

Congrats to Rafa for pulling through.

Tonight I just need my guitar

Outstanding and agreed! Wonder if Jimmy was there? I think he was. It does not get any better than that for any sport.

I am glad that they go tto finish it before it got too dark. that would've been a shame. I was thrilled!

I don't think I could have watched for 4 hours :o (even though they had rain delays) My nerves were shot after just that 1 set! I was thrilled too! I loved how Rafa ran to his family! Both men were gracious in winning and losing!!

Watched most of it, during the rain delays I did other things. ESPN-Classic is replaying it tomorrow.

good...

They can condense the rain delays so it won't span 7 1/2 hours!

I was awake for the first serve at 6:25am PST
and now I'm feeling like a lil' nappy-time 8)

I caught most of the match. It was so great that Rafa pushed on even after losing those first "championship points."

Best tennis I've watched in a long time. I even enjoyed ole John McEnroe. :)

I usually despise tennis, but I watched the last 45 minutes of this one. Good stuff.

God knows, I couldn't do that for 4+ hours!

was bartending....we had in on at the bar.....it was amazing to watch.
Just as impressive was how quickly the grounds crew could get the court covered when the rains came during the rain delay. It couldn't have taken more than 30 seconds.

I got up at 6, watched the first game or so the left. Came back home close to 1, turned on the tv and couldn't believe it was still on! :o Caught the last few games...now I"m sorry I missed it. It's nice to see great tennis...played by class acts.

McEnroe was rather verklempt by the end.

Did you hear him ask Federer if he could give him a hug :o ?

Amazing match--the quality was amazing throughout, even after the rain delays when there is usually a little time needed to get back in groove; the rain delays added to the drama, and the impending darkness just added to the drama!

I watched the whole match (after getting up early to make a blueberry streusel coffeecake for breakfast) and will probably tape it tomorrow night when ESPN Classics shows it (7PM eastern for those interested).

We saw the match at Roland Garros last year but it certainly didn't compare to this one!

They are quite the competitors!

I woke up at 5.30am as couldnt sleep so threw on tv in my bedroom to see what was on and caught the last set ......

so through half open eyes, with no glasses on  - was an awesome finish!

I get bored if the same people win everything - eg Tiger Woods .... aussies love the underdog - so I was pretty happy with the outcome!

Funny seeing Rafa go running up to the royal box.

Was a great match indeed....I checked in from the first rain delay in the 3rd set until the conclusion. I DO believe though from a shot-making standpoint that this wasn't an ALL-TIME CLASSIC. Federer is beginning to make unforced errors like I've never seen him make before. Nadal kinda choked away the 4th set tie-break but indeed steadied the ship in the deciding 5th set.

From a drama standpoint though this was a indeed a classic!! Each game from the 3rd set on was SO HUGE!! Once it was 2 sets a piece and with Federer having the lead serve in the 5th I was sure he'd get a hold late & then break for the victory, but kudos to Nadal! [smilie=coolup.gif]
