For Frisco this year I got a water meter and a permit from the city so we could tap into a fire hydrant without getting in trouble. We used 2,600 gallons that day. 1 phor the road brought the fire hose and adapters. We ran the hose under the street through the rain gutters to keep cars from running over it all day.
I've also used 55-gallon drums when I only needed 200 gallons or so. You should be able to find the plastic ones at a feed store for $10 or so, just ask what was in them and clean them out really well before you use them.
For Hoot Island in 2006, 1 phor the road brought in a 2,000 gallon water tank on a trailer to fill the hot tub and pool.

I wouldn't think so. The problem would be spilling the water out of a garbage can. With a drum you wouldn't have any problems at all.reed69 wrote:hmm didnt think of the 55 gallon dums, i was thinking more along the line of the 5 to 7 gallon miltary containers , but thats much better, i wonder if a simple trash can would work??
Do you realize how slow you would have to go to not spill any out of a garbage can?
Now if you were to say use 6 cans 1/2 full you might make it, but that's a lot of wasted space.

mini pool
We did a mini-pool in the back of a pickup for nissan last year. We filled it up in Georgetown and probably would have made it with plenty of water to the show if some jerk hadn't purposely cut us off and made us lose most of our water.
We found a construction site right next to nissan and got permission to refill it up there. The construction site was right behind a gas station and had a trailer on it as a make-shift office. It might still be there and be a good option, depending on how much water you need.

72 gallons of water
Get 72 friends to each drink a gallon of water and then wait a
couple of hours. Oh, wait a minute. Never mind.
