He was stating his opinion in a private conversation. It was a cheap shot by Faux News to release the tape. There are a lot of prominent conservatives that have probably said similiar things about McCain. That goofball Ann Coulter was saying she would vote for Hillary over McCain during the primaries. McCain has had his own 'famous' outbursts which are even more offensive.

I give Jackson credit for even agreeing to appear on the Faux network. When appearing on the grounds of the enemy, you need to be on your best behavior. He and Obama right now have fundamental differences in the position he was commenting on. Obama is taking the Bill Crosby approach and pushing personal responsibility to appeal to the moderates and conservatives, Jackson is still asking for handouts. I don't blame Jesse for making his comments. As Obama announces his positions that move away from the radical left to the moderate mainstream, a lot of his early supporters are going to be calling him names. I look forward to the outrage from the anti-war crowd when he returns from Iraq and announces that he believes that immediate withdrawal would be a bad idea and that he is willing to negociate with the Iraqi leadership for a US long term presence to train, advise and provide security.

I understand the crux of his comments...but "cutting off nuts?" That's never cool.

In this day and age, especially with public figures, you have to assume that EVERY time you talk to somebody, there's going to be a camera or videocamera there. And that it will eventually make it to the media, especially anything especially vulgar or distasteful. The media LOVES that crap, and Americans eat it up. Truthfully I'm sick of it, but it's the age we live in. It will stop when it stops being a ratings whore for the networks.

yes to both.
The way to not get into trouble about things like that is to not say anything bad about anybody, especially if you are a politician, or in this case, pseudo-politician. :x

Jesse Jackson has done more to promote racism than he has to fix it. He manipulates his target audience, the uninformed, uneducated, lower SES blacks into getting him press...and he doesn't give a rat's a$$ about any of them. He's a pot stirrer, plain and simple.

My "other mother" is black. Not African American...black is what she is, black is what she wants to be called. Her words, not mine. She is a retired teacher, extremely smart and informed, and just a classy, articulate, cultured lady. She and her circle of black friends DESPISE Jackson and all that he stands for. They don't ever want to be associated with him simply because they share the same skin color. These people weren't born into a life of privilege. The worked hard to get where they are, same as most of us. Responsible, American citizens...no matter if you're black, white, green, purple whatever. Actually, they probably worked a lot harder, but you'll never hear any of them complain about it. And many of them taught in LA Unified, and they never took any crap from their kids.

Sorry? Yes he's sorry, a sorry excuse for a human being. :-?

Come on. If he had wanted a private conversation, he shouldn't have had it in a TV studio. That was just stupid. I don't care who you are.
This isn't the first time he's shown poor judgement, IMHO.

At least Don Imus doesn't hide his twisted views like JJ does.

Or at least that's what Faux, er, Fox News said. If they told me the sun was going to rise tomorrow, I'd look outside to make sure.

From what I understand it's perfectly acceptable for one black person to call another black person the N word.

Not that I'm saying Jesse is right
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.
