As the writer of the story... thank you for the kind words.
I've heard that Jimmy may have alluded to the article at the Cincinnati show and was wondering if anyone there could verify that for me... That would be a true thrill!
Thanks again!
Erik
Great article Erik!!!!!! The Coral Reefers are awesome talented musicians!!! It's nice to see someone tell the "outside" world what they are really all about!!!!

I wasn't at Alpine this year -- first time in a long time that I haven't been. But, it was because I splurged on a pre-sale ticket in the second row for Thursday in Chicago... Pricey, I know, but for that once-in-a-lifetime...
I can't claim to be have been a Parrothead for multiple decades (although from all I've learned, I wish I could), but for the past decade-plus, I have come to appreciate the songwriting, revelry and talent of both Jimmy Buffett and the rest of the band collectively and individually...
And, for me it all started on a family vacation roadtrip to Florida. I always brought along a book I hadn't read for those long car rides from Wisconsin, and that year in the late-90s, I reached for a yellow paperback that had a photo of a guy on a laptop in the islands... I still don't know why I picked that book, but now looking at its well-read, ragged pages on my bookshelf after yearly re-readings, I am glad I did. Like the experience of many of the Coral Reefers I talked to for this story, I knew of Jimmy Buffett, but not really who Jimmy Buffett was. Well, in the pages of "A Pirate Looks at Fifty," I learned who this man was and from the tales he told of his life and that 50th birthday trip in the Caribbean, I was hooked.
So, as a phan who has come into the realm of Buffett and later the Coral Reefers through Jimmy Buffett's written words, you can only imagine the goosebumps I had when I listened to him compliment my article on a recording of the show from Alpine... Wow. Talk about coming full circle!
Thanks again guys!
