agreed, he looks more like a local scumbag....
If you party to hard and pass out, you should not have to worry about this kind of crap happening.
The article said he was from Louisville. But even so, the thought that you can't necessarily trust someone just because they call themselves by a particular label is entlrely valid.....

good point however you and I know a few people that have claimed to be parrotheads but were really not verry nice people and caused a lot of trouble and hurt peoples feelings all the time.
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.
It's just disgusting--if he is convicted I say give him the old school punishment...take him out back of the courthouse with a machete and see how much of a man he feels like when they bring him back in...

Tie him up, give the girl a pair of STEEL TOED BOOTS and let her have her way with him!!!!!!!!!!!!

if this is true this is terrible.i hope that the girl is ok and if the guy is guilty he gets some severe punishment. what bothers me is that the girl was left unattended in the car by herself???you never leave someone behind, anything can happen and unfortunately thats the world we live in.

I agree completely...just getting ready to post the same comment.
A good friend of mine got the s**t beaten out of him at the Orlando concert last year. (A VERY strong, very capable person I might add.) He was completely out of it and wondered off in the parking lot before the show was over. We thought he was going to the restroom and we should have NEVER let him go anywhere alone. There are lessons to be learned from this....man, woman, whatever...don't let your friends walk around obliterated at a concert by themselves. It is a recipe for disaster.
Wow. I would say that is unbelieveable, but nothing is these days. I hope for the girls sake, she wasn't raped. I guess they will find out once they do all that DNA testing stuff.
don't bash her for getting so drunk and not going to the show, and instead going to her car. Heck, in the 20 years I have been going to JB shows, there have been a few where I drank too much in the tailgate. Easy to do with such a big party like that. Heat may have affected her too. Not to say this really matters, but at least for her sake, she doesn't remember anything.
For him, he is screwed. Woke up ready for a day of partying and Buffett. Wakes up the next day a felon, and life changed forever b/c of ignorance. he deserves it.
Two yrs ago at Jones Beach my friends wife tried to keep up with me (can't do that) & she ended up passed out before the show but her husband was by her side the whole time she was in the car -then woke up & got to see the second half. What this world has come to kills me -you used to be able to leave your house unlocked, walk around without looking behind you, etc
I hope this sc**bag gets what he deserves
Very sad story. I dont think this is any indication of how parrotheads act on both sides of the story. There are plenty of people who just go to the shows to get messed up and they act like jerks. I have ran into them over the years, and I have even been with a few over the years. The guy deserves the strongest punishment possible, just like every case of rape. The girl in no way deserved this, it is sad that people can no longer expect even the smallest amounts of respect from other people. On that note, I also find it sad that nobody stayed to look after her, or at least made sure the car was locked, as it sounds that it wasn't.
I am leaving for Alpine in about ten minutes with a friend of mine that is a female and there is no way I would ever leave just her passed out in a car at any event with this many people at it!

We need to remember this always and never assume that just because someone calls themselves a parrothead that they are actually worthy of our trust and in some cases our friendship. Maybe worthy is not the correct term but that's how I feel. It's sad - and sadder for those that trust without reservations and get screwed in the end.
I would say worthy is the correct term........and I couldn't agree more.
i read all the comments and agree with what should be done to the rapist.
But, i would also blame whoever she came with anyone who would leave someone that wasted in a car alone is asking for something to happen whether is is beaten robbed raped or choking to death on their own vomit
not to take any blame away from who deserves it but something to think about as we see people in parking lots and can help encourage people to look after who is with them
