C - G - and something else like Am11. Not necessarily in that order. Although the "Meet Me in Margaritaville" book has the intro as G - Am11 - Bm7 - Am11 - G but i think he fakes it
"The most aggravating thing about the younger generation is that I no longer belong to it." - Albert Einstein
I got my chords for that song from the old COBO site and I use G, Am, D, Am7, G which is just like the end of the verses. I think it sounds close enough.

Palm Trees and views I can't believe
Why would I ever want to leave?
Everytime I pick up a guitar, that is the first song I play or "warm up" with. You could almost do it with the C thrown in there after the G and before the Am. All depends on if you are picking it or strumming it.

Can't wait to hear you play, Michelle! Maybe one day, JB will ask you to come up on the stage and join the Coral Reefers.
Been there, done that, got that T-shirt!!!! Ha ha!!
I was on the stage in Aspen 2006 for Cheeseburger and decided I would learn to play in case I got the opportunity again!!!
I already told everyone I may not come home after Chicago because I may have joined the band!!!! My children and husband were not thrilled with that info!!!
Haven't played it in years. I think he's got some kind of somewhat open tuning going on, in G - not open G but one dropped down possibly. Dunno the chord names but I know how to play 'em.
I learned to play because of Little Miss Magic and I had my teacher transcribe it for me. Also, check out ultimate-guitar.com, it has over 100 Buffett tabs and chords. I can get you Little Miss Magic if you like, it's a lot of fun to play.
I don't really consider those chords...though I'm sure one could put names to them.
On a standard tuning guitar, I play them as:
xxxx7x7
xxxx5x5
xxxx4x3
...where the x's represent strings not plucked, and the song is played in G as written in the sheet music. (Beginning chords of the verse are G and Gsus4)

that's right
When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.
The Great Chords Compilation on COBO is still available also. If you browse by song you will see quite a bit that are probably not on the other main chord sites.
