"This has become an important part of the experience that golf courses provide,"

What the heck????? :o

I pay my hard earned money to practice something that I enjoy, I do NOT want to have somebody who's p*** off b/c they are playing bad and their emotions are multiplied by alcohol around me. It totally takes away from the enjoyment of the game.

I'm sure that like anything else, there are golfers who can "handle" their consumption and those who cannot.

All I know is that I definitely prefer to not be around any alcohol when I play. It detracts from the experience as a whole for me.

I just deleted a whole bunch else of what I wrote b/c it made me sound like a TOTAL prude. In fact, I am only a PARTIAL prude. [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

guess I'm still "knee jerk reacting" to a bad experience we had this weekend w/ some "over-served" yahoos behind us-you could hear them all over the place.

I guess like anything, if you can hold yer liquor and still be a gentleman/lady, more power to ya!
