I think it's Brian Kelly's if he wants it....he'd be a fool to turn them down...

He said today that he was staying. Of course that dude has said that 3 times now, almost as bad as Nick $atan. Plus he always says he's staying when the school doesnt offer, so he can seem like he's some god who turned them down.

The longer this drags on, the longer he stays. The AD and him have a meeting scheduled for next Monday, so we shall see what happens. Smart money is one more year.

Is that the Medicore Bowl sponsored by no one they will be playing in

Stewi's predicting the Texas bowl for the above mentioned game. If so, ND would probably have a 50/50 chance of changing their recent misfortunes in bowl games.

I would assume Weis thinks he has a 'decided schematic advantage' over Rice.

Charlie likes to think it's his world and we are all living in it. Part of what's gotten him in trouble...one thing to be a bad coach. Bad coach and a big ego, never a good thing

Tommy Tuberville is out at Auburn after 10 seasons. While it is not immediately clear if he was fired or resigned, the likeable coach will do just fine. He is owed $6 million in a buyout due in a couple of $3 million installments.

There are no jobs out there at the moment that seem to fit him. Tuberville was rumored to be interested in Clemson but that job just filled with interim coach Dabo Swinney.

The school hasn't waited around. Tubs has spoken to both AD Jay Jacobs and president Jay Gogue since Monday. It has contacted both Mike Leach and Bobby Petrino. Also, Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp told the school no. Auburn may have contacted Steve Spurrier as well.

At this moment, Auburn's top choices seem to be Petrino and Georgia Tech's Paul Johnson. Petrino might be tough to pry loose from Arkansas. He apparently has a non-compete clause in his contract that could be expensive to get out of.

Russ Campbell, Petrino's agent, said he has not been contacted by Auburn and that his client is not a candidate "for any hypothetical opening" Auburn may have.

Also watch for Florida State's Jimbo Fisher to get a call. He has ties to the school.

AP is reporting that Charlie Weiss will be back in 2009....

Today Freep headline: "Brian Kelly says he's happy at Cincinnati". So look for him to be somewhere else by the end of the week.

His buyout agreement is reduced by half if they don't build him a covered practice field by the end of next year. I'm kinda surprised Cincinnati doesn't have one already, and to me "covered" is not the same as "indoor".

It was reported this morning that Petrino's contract say he can't leave Arkansas for another SEC West school. Jimbo would be an interesting hire considering that he was named FSU's coach when Bowden retires.

Breaking news...Steve Sarkisian, USCs OC is heading up to WA to be the new head coach of the Huskies. I wish him and UDub well, I'd like to see the Huskies back in contention.

No kidding. About 10 years ago I was seriously considering going there for another degree...this time in environmental ed. Still kicking myself. It's a beautiful campus.

Central Michigan's A.D. has released a statement that we will be playing in one of four bowl games...

1. GMAC Bowl (the most likely, I think)
2. Motor City Bowl
3. Texas Bowl (vs. Rice) (on the NFL Network, so I hope not)
4. Independence Bowl (vs. Louisiana Tech)


I am now accepting offers for room & board for any BNers that live within an hour of the locations of #1, #3 and #4.
