Oddly enough, after watching Notre Dame get waxed by USC on Saturday night. I think they need to keep Charlie Wiess for one more year. See what he does....
No Way, wont happen. I think they keep Jabba and if they do drop him they will go after Kelly because as you now the guy never unpacks his bags.chippewa wrote:South Bend tribute lists Mark Dantonio on a list for the still-occupied Notre Dame job.msu#1 wrote:Bring on the Bulldogs.

You are indeed quite fortunate S.I.T.C..........if I lived anywhere within a 3 hour drive I do my best to catch either of those games!!TheSecretsInTheCrust wrote:San Diego has no college football to speak of, but we do have 2 Bowl games we host. Both are setting up to be good matchups. The Poinsettia Bowl is looking like a Boise St vs TCU game and the Holiday Bowl is looking like Oregon or USC if UCLA can pull off the upset Saturday against either Texas Tech or Oklahoma State.
That was an excellent article. I hope he does well, and after reading that, I'm sure he will.CUparrot wrote:Thought I would share--this is a really good story about Dabo Swinney. It's long, but worth the read:

I am so happy that he'll be sticking around.....I think he's definitely the best fit for Clemson.
I think it's Brian Kelly's if he wants it....he'd be a fool to turn them down...msu#1 wrote:No Way, wont happen. He said today that he was staying. Of course that dude has said that 3 times now, almost as bad as Nick $atan. Plus he always says he's staying when the school doesnt offer, so he can seem like he's some god who turned them down.Frank4 wrote:I think it's Brian Kelly's if he wants it....he'd be a fool to turn them down...msu#1 wrote:No Way, wont happen. I think they need to keep Weis longer. It's been fun watching arrogance and mediocrity joining together. The next level will be irrelevance in the football arena.Frank4 wrote:Oddly enough, after watching Notre Dame get waxed by USC on Saturday night. The longer this drags on, the longer he stays. The AD and him have a meeting scheduled for next Monday, so we shall see what happens. Smart money is one more year.Thewino wrote:I think they need to keep Weis longer. It's been fun watching arrogance and mediocrity joining together. Stewie Mandel predicts ND playing Rice for their bowl game this year.
Charlie likes to think it's his world and we are all living in it. Part of what's gotten him in trouble...one thing to be a bad coach. Bad coach and a big ego, never a good thingThewino wrote:Stewi's predicting the Texas bowl for the above mentioned game. If so, ND would probably have a 50/50 chance of changing their recent misfortunes in bowl games.
I would assume Weis thinks he has a 'decided schematic advantage' over Rice.
Today Freep headline: "Brian Kelly says he's happy at Cincinnati". So look for him to be somewhere else by the end of the week.msu#1 wrote:He said today that he was staying. Tommy Tuberville is out at Auburn after 10 seasons. While it is not immediately clear if he was fired or resigned, the likeable coach will do just fine. He is owed $6 million in a buyout due in a couple of $3 million installments.
There are no jobs out there at the moment that seem to fit him. Tuberville was rumored to be interested in Clemson but that job just filled with interim coach Dabo Swinney.
The school hasn't waited around. Tubs has spoken to both AD Jay Jacobs and president Jay Gogue since Monday. It has contacted both Mike Leach and Bobby Petrino. Also, Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp told the school no. Auburn may have contacted Steve Spurrier as well.
At this moment, Auburn's top choices seem to be Petrino and Georgia Tech's Paul Johnson. Petrino might be tough to pry loose from Arkansas. He apparently has a non-compete clause in his contract that could be expensive to get out of.
Russ Campbell, Petrino's agent, said he has not been contacted by Auburn and that his client is not a candidate "for any hypothetical opening" Auburn may have.
Also watch for Florida State's Jimbo Fisher to get a call. He has ties to the school.
I'd take that job just for the view. I'd love to see a game there.Brown Eyed Girl wrote:Breaking news...Steve Sarkisian, USCs OC is heading up to WA to be the new head coach of the Huskies. I wish him and UDub well, I'd like to see the Huskies back in contention.

No kidding. About 10 years ago I was seriously considering going there for another degree...this time in environmental ed. Still kicking myself. It's a beautiful campus.chippewa wrote:I'd take that job just for the view. I'd agree with you there. It would be fun to sit on a boat and watch the game...talk about a different kind of tailgating.chippewa wrote:I'd take that job just for the view.
