Looking over the list of recorded songs.

There are a few I have never heard.

:o

Am I alone here? Please tell me that there a few Parrot Heads out there who haven't heard all the Buffett songs availalbe?

And I am not even talking about the really old stuff (I mean REALLY old stuff).

When we played the game where we needed to match a Buffett song to a picture I went through the song list data base and kept saying to myself
"I've never even heard of this song"

I've never looked at the complete list in the song database, but if it's recorded on a studio album I've heard it. Soundtracks, tribute albums, live stuff, I'm sure there are some I haven't heard.

Songs like The Ass And The Hole - everytime I've ever come across it it's not Jimmy Buffett it's some country guy singing it.

Like that video of the kid with the little cars.

Abandoned On Tuesday - never heard it. A couple others that were done for Second Wind and not released on Havana Daydreamin' - aside from Fifteen Year Old - have never heard 'em.

Maybe I'll look at the list and see if I can keep track of how many I have not heard.

Now THIS is an interesting thread!

Written by Mac McAnally. Recorded by Mac, Jimmy, and the CRB, and released on Mac's "Word of Mouth" album, 1999.

Sorry. What I meant was, it's come up AS a Jimmy Buffett song - listed as Jimmy Buffett - just like somehow that Pina Colada song or whatever...

So that one with the cars, that's Mac? I had no idea.

Obviously.

I haven't seen the video with the cars. Was it done to Ass and the Hole?

I think Ass and the Hole is often ID'ed as "Jimmy" because you do hear Jimmy on vocals in the studio version.

That's gotta be it then.

I put in Jimmy Buffett in the search slot and, although I didn't look at every song (ha ha) I believe they are all he wrote alone...or maybe wrote with someone...but none of them are covers. And some were done, like Don't Bring Me Candy, as B-sides.

It's a pretty big list if done just that way.

There's also the other song, Where You Born An a**hole, or whatever the title is. That's always ID'd as a Buffett song but it's some guy named Fred August Campbell.

It's called "The I-95 Song" and it was originally performed by "Fred (August) Campbell and The Spur of the Moment Band":

(spoken)
Well I was driving down I-95 the other night,
when somebody nearly cut me right off the road.
I decided it wasn't going to do any good to get mad,
so I wrote a song about him instead. It goes like this...

(sung)
Were you born an ass-hole, or did you work at it your whole life?
Either way it worked out fine, 'cause you're an ass-hole tonight.

Yes you're an A-S-S-H-O-L-E, and don't you try to blame it on me,
you deserve all the credit, you're an ass-hole tonight.

You were an ass-hole yesterday, you're an ass-hole tonight,
and I've got a feeling, you'll be an ass-hole the rest of your life.

And I was talking to your mother, just the other night,
I told her I thought you were an ass-hole, she said "yes, I think you're right".

And all your friends are ass-holes, 'cause you've known them your whole life,
and somebody told me, you've got an ass-hole for a wife.

Were you born an ass-hole, or did you work at it your whole life?
Either way it worked out fine, 'cause you're an ass. . .hole tonight

There are some outrageous videos of this song on YouTube. Just key in the words "The I-95 Song"

That must be it. Y'all figured it out.

I just don't get why people put JB's name in there. I guess to make sure it gets searched and played.

Like the old days with Napster - you put in Metallica and you get some kid with his grage band came up. Clever.
