BigR's Season Ending Review

Post by BigR-KyParrothead »

with great sadness, another season of JB has ended for me :( so i thought i would write a short review

st. louis- 2nd show of the tour, great to get to see jimmy so early in the season. the lots didnt open until 3:30 and that is waaay late for me. unfortunatly, i made the most of things and the show is pretty fuzzy
the hilites were jimmy having fun with the sign language interpreter and making her sign get drunk and screw, making the big screen and closing with defying gravity. great way to close show number one.

cincy- what can i say....it's cincy. the tailgate was great, as usual. got to see all of my friends and make new ones. the show was phenomenal, easily my best setlist of all time. the fact that i got "god's own drunk" was just icing on the cake for the best show ever for me.

alpine- wow. just wow. it was my first trip to alpine and i will not miss this venue again. i can now cast my vote in the great "cincy vs alpine tailgate debate" and as much as it pains me....alpine wins. unless you have been to alpine, you just cant understand how big of a party it is. the show was great. awesome to get fingers again! closing with distantly in love was magical.

indy- this tailgate gets a bad rap. i have stayed at sleepy bear campground in the past because i have heard how lame the lots are. that was not the case this year. true, they dont open until 2:30-3:00 but once they do...it is on. i had a blast with the hoosier parrotheads! the show was fantatsic, as usual. made the big screen again! easily the best seat i have ever had, soooo close to the stage! it was nice to get last mango again and i swear far side was the best i have ever heard it. closed with nautical wheelers, possibly the best closer i have ever gotten, it was amazing. that song was the perfect way to end the season for me.

overall, probably the best summer of buffett i have ever experienced. if jimmy decides to hang it up....i can say we went out with a bang!

i'm really jealous of those with shows left!

cant wait til next year!

I agree with you about your review of the Indy show. Usually I am saying how tame the tailgating is but this year it wasn't so. I think people have finally caught on. To me the only disappointment was no tailgate video during CILCIA. Maybe they had technical difficulties. All in all though it was a great show. Was hoping for a Fingers appearance but oh well.

By the way, how much was Sleepybear this year?

having tied my personal best this year, (including two concerts I had not expected to make) I have to say I was luckier than I really deserve in a lot of ways. and personally, it isn't even so much the music or RM broadcasting, it's the family in the lot.
That is the hard part, knowing it is going to be another year until you see everyone. (this morning I had that mentioned and it has been kicking around in my head ever since and it is sometimes hard to keep that in perspective)
