A better choice might be Tattooed Millionaire.popcornjack wrote:I keep getting confused. Whenever anyone says Bruce Dickinson, I now know you mean
But to me, when I hear Bruce Dickinson, I think of
Bruce Dickinson, the human air raid signal. You know, from this band?
Jimmy Buffett doing "Run to the Hills"? Now THAT would be an interesting cover.![]()

NOT GROWING ON ME
I never understood why he insists on playing these cover songs when there are soooo many great songs that he can sing instead.
So is anyone else noticing that he is playing Glory Days, Rainy Day Woman, Its a Big Old Goofy World, etc. in its entirety but he skips a whole verse when performing Cowboy in the Jungle??? I don't get it. I thought maybe he had a senior moment in Chicago, but he did it again at the Indy show the following Tuesday. Why?

Couldnt be the entire band, in fact if it were him solo, it could actually be pretty decent. Definetely no reeferette's.....popcornjack wrote:((((Shudder)))) As much as I love Desolation Row, I don't know if i could picture him doing it.labatt1876 wrote:Totally agree, if he really feels the need to play a Dylan cover, at least choose something better. It could be a big surprise, and yeah, it would have to be just him. personally if he's gonna do a dylan song, I would love "she belong's to me."labatt1876 wrote:Couldnt be the entire band, in fact if it were him solo, it could actually be pretty decent. Take me for what I am, a star newly emerging.

He's done that before when he sat in with Jerry Jeff Walker at Stephen Talkhouse, Aug., 2002.popcornjack wrote:It could be a big surprise, and yeah, it would have to be just him. personally if he's gonna do a dylan song, I would love "she belong's to me."labatt1876 wrote:Couldnt be the entire band, in fact if it were him solo, it could actually be pretty decent. Well, while we still end up hearing the covers. At least we havent been subjected to Elvis Presley Blues, Everybody's on the Phone, Take the Weather with You, etc. that we got to hear last year.
Now I am just hoping he plays Take Another Road at Jones Beach next month. Always been one of my favorites that I have never gotten to hear live

Does such a thing exist?
My niece has seen him quite a few times over the past few years in conjunction with other acts, and she says his songs are completely unrecognizable live.
From a fairly recent concert review:
It's not breaking news that Dylan's voice has withered over the course of his storied 65 years. Nor is his tendency to rearrange the phrasing and melodies of his songs to suit those battered pipes. But these days, the man sounds less like a rock-and-roll icon and more like Cookie Monster with a head cold.

I'd rather hear Weather With You than just about any of the covers he's doing this year.labatt1876 wrote:ha, very cleverDezdmona wrote:Highlight to Read.labatt1876 wrote:speechless?LIPH wrote:shocking

You had to like While My Guitar Gentle Weeps, with Jake Shimabukaro.......saw that at MSG, I thought it was fantastic
Although, I guess that isnt Jimmy singing a cover, more of a substitute for intermission, which are strangely missing this year
