Groovy mentioned in Coast of Carolina

Was watching the video of Coast of Carolina on the Margaritaville website Coconut Television. Jimmy mentioned losing his friend "Groovy" who is also mentioned in the song. Just wondered who Groovy is?

Sort of related...my husband and I are getting a Yellow Lab some time in the next year and her name will be Groovy in honor of Jimmy's friend. I think we are going with Groovy Savannah...

Thanks so much for the link to the previous post. I had figured that it was probably listed somewhere before, but when I did a search for "groovy" i didn't manage to find it.
Thanks also for the welcome, found the site by accident when I was looking for reviews of the Alpine Valley concert we attended. A happy accident!!

I was glad to refresh my memory on this subject! I saw this particular thread a few days earlier while drinking, but I kept thinking it was a previous news article by the way it was titled.
