That would be the way that most of us from Colorado pronounce it. I don't know if anyone has ever determined if it's correct, or not. But the ColorAdo way is more how many folks from the east that come here do. :)

That's how we say it in Texas...and "Coll oh rah doe" is where Texans go in the winter to ski/vacation.
Never gave it much thought, but it does sound like a southern pronunciation of the native american word.

On the other hand, much of Colorado was once part of Texas...before we sold the land to build the state capital building, so that might explain the southern inflection. :P
