As others have said, the original thread is: Very Well Written!
There's definitely nothing wrong with a little disagreement or change of opinion.
However, I do think it's disturbing that one BNer in particular continues to post negativity in nearly every thread this week.
We get it-You don't want to spend your money on Jimmy anymore, you'd rather spend it elsewhere. That's your choice. However, there's no need to continue to rant and rave in every thread. Post something new or let it go.
As my good friend Cocotel would say, "Smile, Damb It!"

As a footnote: I don't drink the kool-aid, I have never been to a CIP, the cheeseburger I ate in Margaritaville, KW, restaurant in the 90's was terrible, I am not crazy about M'ville Tequila, I will not pay import prices for a Landshark Lager imported from Jacksonville, FL, and I have never even tried M'ville shrimp. But I would never fault anyone for liking any of these things. And it really doesn't bother me that these are all JB products. It just doesn't. And no post on this website will ever change that fact. I have liked the music since I was introduced to it and have liked it through the last 30-some-odd years. Sorry if that bothers so many of you.

Got some wonderful memories. Had some AMAZING times. And I think I've grown into a way of life I enjoy living. I owe Jimmy a big thank you for all the companionship his music has brought me driving about 55,000 miles a year.
And I also think you let family, especially the BN family, go through some hard times, knowing they'll pass. As crazy as this world is each and everyday, we all need a place to anchor and chill..... safe harbors for the PH soul.

Completely agree, this started out as one of the few positive posts that have gone up lately. I have a great idea, since this is a Jimmy FANSITE, anybody who wants to complain about what he does, where he goes, how he spends his money, should start up their very own website where there rants and bickers could be kept away from the positive vibe MOST of us have going on here!! Now wouldn't that be niceY-NO-9-O wrote:And again I ask this type of question:

I have been posting a bit here and a bit there lately, more than usual, and I really don't see what is wrong with having an opinion that is different than everyone else. I am not the type of fan that thinks that everything JB does is great. I post what I post because I am a true fan and would like to see something different or hear something different than the same show I have heard / seen for the last three years. Why is that so wrong? Why is it wrong for me to think that JB should change it up a bit and since he is in the twilight of his career, cater to those fans that have been with him longer than the people just there for the party? I think that as fans, we have a right to request, ask, b****, complain about what we are getting for our money.

I am not trying to be a trouble maker here, but when ever someone or myself talks about what he should change or what ever, there is so much backlash about turning in our user names and if we don't like it, stay home and listen to the old stuff, blah, blah, blah.....
If everyone else likes hearing the big 8 so much, why don't you people stay at home and play the yellow CD and the covers over and over again? I am suprised that no one has mentioned this before. And if they have, I am sorry I missed it and posted the same idea again.

Not every thread needs a post about how shortchanged you feel....but now that you brought it up....No, just because you own more albums or have been a fan longer does not mean JB has to cater to you. This is a Jimmy Buffett concert, and everyone who buys a ticket has just as much right to hear what they want as you do and it's Jimmy who gets to decide what he plays.
You hate CIP? Personally I like it as it reminds me of my 7 year old neice who I turned into a Parrothead back when she was still in diapers. CIP is her favorite song. Last year she got to hear it live over my cellphone while I was at the show. Between the pics I sent during the show and her listening to CIP and Everyone's on the Phone over my phone, my brother said it was better than any gift I could have bought her. If you and many other had their way, you would have denied my neice that experience, something she will probably cherish for life or til she's old enough for me to take her to her first show. JB is for everyone....not just the people who started listening back in the 70's...and everyone has their favorite songs. Would I like to hear ASPOL, The Wino & I Know or some other rarely played classic...sure, but I'll happily take BEG, CIP or whatever he wants to play....and have a great time.
Damb, I hate getting negative, but lately every thread is full of this BS. No, this isn't Russia, but we're not your therapist either. If you got issues, make an appointment and go see someone, 'cause I've heard enough.

Perspective for me...
My wife and I were at the Jack Johnson concert last night in Camden, and it made me realize how much we enjoy the Buffett shows (tailgating and concert). For everything that annoys people inside the concert (cell phones, chatting during songs, rudeness, people passed out, etc...), it was at least 20x worse on the lawn at the show last night. I feel like I should have been a chaperone on the lawn, instead of a paying customer. I have never been close to getting into a fight in my 35+ Buffett Shows. I almost got drawn into 2 last night.
That being said, my Brown Eyed Girl, thanks her Southern Cross, that we still have these Glory Days to celebrate as we get On The Road Again for Another Saturday Night at GreatWoods in September.
Cheers,
Kevin
