I was a freshman in college at the time. Taking a break from the summer tour with the Grateful Dead. My father gave me two tickets because my parents could not go. He was the real fan at that time. (He still is). I was a conceded know-it-all college kid who reluctantly took the tickets because they were free. Who would have thought 18 years later that I would be taking him to Jones Beach in less than a month. Thanks Dad for pointing me in the right direction!

My first show was on June 10, 2008 at DTE, but it will always be Pine Knob to me.
It is a very special show to me not only because it was my first show, but because I took a gamble and left my comfort zone by going to this show with people whom I had not yet met. I joined a PHC earlier this year, but I never could make any meetings before the show, and I did not have the chance to meet any of the club members before going to the show.

Sammie and I took a bus to Lansing where my PHC is based the day before the show, and we hooked up with a few very nice people who we were meeting for the first time. The next day was the show, and we chartered a bus to get to the show. I had so much fun with 50 people that I was just meeding for the first time. I still am in awe at the thrill of experiencing that first show from the craziness of the parking lot to the fantastic show. I'm still trying to process the wonder of it all.

June 1986 at Great Woods. Somewhere in 79 or 80. Maybe 78. It was a real foggy period.

We were drinking an old concoction of flavors called "Loose Juice"...
and I recall (barely) that we were laughing so hard at a stupid reference of we're "off to shake the lizard"

I miss that place. I saw the Cult there until the SoCo kicked in and I missed the rest of the show.

How are the Chargers going to do? as long as they have at least 2 wins (both against the Raiders) I wont mind.

9 month old son's first show: Newport Folk Festival - August 2008

Thanks, that is the time frame I was thinking. Just can't remember if I had already graduated college or not.

1996 Banana Wind tour at Tinley Park. I had only heard CIP and Margaritaville. my sister took me for my 21st birthday (a couple of months early) and I have been hooked since. 9 more shows since and ready for next year to get here so we can keep this crazy ride going!
