I think our boys did great--and very much a melting pot of a team, which I think is so perfect and so fitting. Sometimes a bronze medal can feel like gold.

Am I the only one who wonders if the swimmers wax or shave?

They definately shave...sometimes pre-meet shaving parties are in order...not sure about pre-Olympics though! Less hair, less drag, faster swim!

I swear last night when Phelps was stretching w/ his coach it looked like he told him, "I cut myself shaving" and pointed to his ankle.

Yeah, you're right Greg...maybe they don't shave as much now with the new suits!

I noticed that too...wasn't sure what it was about but that would make sense.

The actual table is normally number of gold medals at top - so that makes it China.
We are doing PRETTY DARN good - seeing China has billions of people and USA has millions and millions compared to our population of 22 million!!!!

I posted it from the table found in the links that Dez and Molly posted.
They are listed by Rank - the total number of metals won since day one.
Is this another one of your attempts to put down the USA? You seem to be hell bent to do so in this and the China faked opening ceremony threads. It's one thing to be rooting for your country but you're crossing the line into bad sportsmanship by making a jab at the U.S. every chance you can get; actually you're acting like what the world sterotypes as a typical United States citizen.

While we're on this subject, I've got a question..............
If body hair and suits make such a difference, then wouldn't earrings create drag? I would think they would be worse than a little body hair. Anyone else notice the girls wearing hoop earrings in the water?

The ladies also wear caps so I assume the caps covers the ear rings.
