huh, interesting. might be an entertaining discussion between the two swimmers - I know some Olympians go to later Olympics as Alum or something, and with all the hype, you would think someone would have thought to ask him to be there....at least someone in the swimming community. I mean, if he hadn't done what he did, there wouldn't be his long-standing record to break.

Yes, but I am also reminded of Spitz's enormous ego--both then and now.comtnfish wrote:yah.... awwww!! super nice comments from spitz, and phelps is truly humble and proud. what an amazing kid!diverg wrote:NBC has Mark Spitz and Phelps on right now. Carly Patterson wasn't invited either. She should have been there for the gymnastics & to see Nastia Liukin win the All-Around. They even trained at the same gym!springparrot wrote:WOW!!!!comtnfish wrote:huh, interesting. might be an entertaining discussion between the two swimmers - I know some Olympians go to later Olympics as Alum or something, and with all the hype, you would think someone would have thought to ask him to be there....at least someone in the swimming community.
