BIG NEWS for our local tropical troubadour!
Jimmy Parrish & the Ocean Waves Band will be opening for the Chesney tour stop at the Jacksonville Arena on August 30th!!!
You might recall this thread from last year... viewtopic.php?t=63301&highlight=parrish
Well, Jimmy and the band won a local radio station competition tonight, and they'll be performing at the local Chesney concert with a chance to go on to touring with Kenny and maybe even getting a recording contract!

Kewl! They did much the same thing here in the Bay Area; a friend of mine and her band were in the finals.

Well, the evening finally came Saturday night. JP and the boys got their turn
on the REALLY BIG stage at the arena. Their 3 tunes were taped for use in
the "Next Big Star" competition, and they gave Jimmy a DVD of the performance.
He has posted it (with some necessary editing for size) on YouTube at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWc4R_ePiMA
I'm hoping he'll just break it into pieces and post it all. I wasn't there, but he
tells me he took the opportunity to ask the 15000+ audience to all make a
big noise so he could see what it sounded like.

Different band... great song, tho (Hollow Man by the Boat Drunks) .
We have developed some special "audience participation" for JP's performances.
You'll see (and get to play) at Stars in March. (hint: bring bait )
