Just like some soccer nations in the world - you lose - you go home - risk of being shot by peopleph4ever wrote:I can't wrap my brain around booing an olympic athlete - it just seems to be such a display of bad sportsmanship.drunkpirate66 wrote:Well jail might be a tad extreme but if they mess up they should get booed. Here in the US if you've got a young olympic hopeful, the parents pay for the classes out of their own pocket. It can't really be that much different than many high school football programs who practice for 2 + hours before school and 3+ hours after school and all throughout the summer and are encouraged to use steroids for the false hope of playing college ball which equals (for most of them) 4 years of highschool without a real education and then 4 years of college without a real education so they can work jobs they hate for the rest of their lives . . . or maybe that Varisty Blues movie is just a big lie.
I also believe those from the communist countries that do win metals are pretty much set for life. Now the loosers - they're probably thrown in jail or working in some field somewhere. I dunno - it would be interesting to find out.
Booing? depends - if they are being a bad sport .... . I would probably boo .. but then - I am also known to clap the competition in on the field to my friends disgust

Bad sportsmanship? You play a sport and people pay money to see you perform and you stink up the place then you get booed . . . it has only been happening since Greeks built that big building hundreds of years ago and had those Gladiators fight . . . and it was probably happening before that. The Olympic Basketball players were getting crap when they weren't performing up to their ability . . . why not everyone else?creeky wrote:Just like some soccer nations in the world - you lose - you go home - risk of being shot by peopleph4ever wrote:I can't wrap my brain around booing an olympic athlete - it just seems to be such a display of bad sportsmanship.drunkpirate66 wrote:Well jail might be a tad extreme but if they mess up they should get booed.
