What ERJ and Wino said. Nice folks in the parking lot, and I thought the sound was much better than Tinley.

What are the chances of scoring two shows again this year? For the past two years we have been traveling to Vegas for our "Guys Buffett Weekend" this year we wanted a new destination. Chicago it is...

Chances are good. He does two shows more often than not but has been known to do 1 show.

This Chicagoan will gladly welcome a fellow Las Vegan traveler to our midwest terrain! Who better to start a human pyramid!?

That's what I love about the this time of year...

Holidays are over, and talk turns to "When do Buffett tix go on sale?"

I have no problems with 2 shows at Toyota Park this year!!! Thought the change of venue was nice, lots opened early, and the sound was OK.

I hear Tweeter Center might falling on hard times, so it will be interesting what their schedule will look like.

I'm here to officially demand Jimmy not play on July 11th. He has consistently gone to late July and that would be a welcome trend. I have an wedding in PA that weekend. I think Jimmy has also liked Chicago AFTER ALpine so I'm hoping my odds are good.

The Parrot Dice Lounge planning is already in full swing . . . . Once I buy the 1st piece to this years Lounge addition/construction project I will make the announcement. What I am going to try and pull off this year is ridiculous as $hit . . . .

This will be in addition to:
The Prize Wheel
The 1500 lbs of sand
The Stage
The Live Entertainment
The Dueling Tiki Beer Bongs
and the Free Booze out the wazooo . . . .

I hope he doesn't decide to cross the tour dates between TP and Alpine (but I'll probably still go to both shows )
Here's hoping the folks at TP give you a little more room than last year Matt (and for the rest of us as well...I'm sure they learned a few more things about tailgate planning, especially after the Saturday show
Tinley Park - June 30, Alpine - ???, Vegas -???

I can tell you right now, Jimmy WILL NOT be playing in the Chicago area on July 25th. That day is already reserved for George Strait. I will be flying in from where ever I will be at that time for that show. My cousin already has a line on great seats for the 10 of us for that show.

Okay, am I missing something? Jimmy can't play the same day? Crazier things have happened. As long as he comes to play I am a happy happy lady!! [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]

I do not think Jimmy would try to upscale someone he respects. Honestly, from what I was told.. George is playing in Tinley Park, which can hold up to and over 40,000. I think a lot of people would opt to go see George for way less than half of what Jimmy charges, and probably would be a better show too. I think that Toyota Park only holds 26,000 or so.

Okay, I see your point. Personally I would always do Jimmy over George. :o [smilie=gt_grinz-browwiggle.gif]

George Who?

The only George I would allow to upstage Jimmy would have been the late great George Harrison but even then he would need the other 2 living members of the Beatles touring with him to trump Jimmy.

DO you honestly believe that Jimmy cares who else is playing in the Chicagoland area? Those are still two distinct audiences. Sure there is crossover and that is for the fan to decide.

Jimmy and George can meet up at The Four Seasons in Chicago that evening and have a pillow fight in their butt loads of cash profit from the evening. I suspect safely neither will be hurting too much due to the other.

** Side note: So is the majority of Tinley Parks business only pulling in Country acts these days? I know last year that was pretty much all they had.

Didn't they share the same stage the same night in Dallas?

Yes they did share the stage, and sold an album that many people bought for many different reasons. I for one bought it because I enjoy Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett.

Jimmy also shares the stage at Jazz Fest or the Newport Folk Festival with many others but I doubt he coordinates his schedule with them.

Look at it this way too . . . Country shows typically have 2-3 opening acts. Jimmy has none. Maybe George shows up to do "hey Good Lookin" with Jimmy and then jets down Harlem to the Tinley Show. You'll be sad you missed it.
