Not sure if this qualifies as news about Jimmy, but someone has for sale on eBay what they claim to be one of the only remaining Grumman Widgeons on the planet. This particular plane was the conveyance that delivered visitors to the famed “Fantasy Island”. The auction description states that it is 1 of only 3 Widgeons in the world, and the only one still flying. You’ll remember of course that Mr. Buffett crashed his Grumman Widgeon (which he referred to as “the perfect seaplane”) on takeoff near Buzzards Bay, MA a few years back. I wonder if Jimmy will be making a bid?

hate to say there's a lot more than 3 widgeons still around. not many still have the original ranger engines, most have been re-engined for improved performance.

08/25/01 Google Search "Grumman Widgeon J4F-1". I think you will find scores of them still registered with The FAA in Airworthy condition. Something in Excess of 70 registered in the US.

Buffet's other seaplane a Goose.
Latest bird an Albatross.

Ducks are rare, Mallards prized.
