And the LPGA has tour stops in Korea, Japan, Singapore, China and Mexico. I wonder if the Pro-Am partners there complain when the American players can't speak the "home" language.LIPH wrote:I wonder if the United States Tennis Association will require all players to learn French in order to be eligible to play in the French Open? It's part of the tour.

good point. But the LPGA is an American tour, and if they choose not to participate in protest. I don't see this as a radical attempt at isolationism.alphabits wrote:And the LPGA has tour stops in Korea, Japan, Singapore, China and Mexico. Nah, I wasn't suggesting that. It was more a "hypothetical" based on this from the article:Lightning Bolt wrote:good point. I don't see this as a radical attempt at isolationism.alphabits wrote:And the LPGA has tour stops in Korea, Japan, Singapore, China and Mexico. "Hilary Lunke, president of the Player Executive Committee, said much of this initiative stems from the importance of being able to entertain pro-am partners. Players already are fined if the LPGA receives complaints from their pro-am partners."
Just wondering if it's an issue for those events that are outside the U.S.
