I think that's a good idea.
Hollywood and music stars should back away from this election,
and let people figure out WHO and WHAT they want in a President, without any pop culture thrown in...
Learn a lesson from '04's overblown excess.

Besides... McCain just found out that Benny Goodman and Lawrence Welk were dead, anyway.

Bruce should just stick to singing and not become Ditzi Twits with a pea-nus.

From Brucespringsteen.net:

Just to add to what the Obama Campaign stated earlier today, while Bruce is an ardent and dedicated supporter of Senator Obama, he will not be performing at, and, in fact, had never planned to perform, at Invesco Field this Thursday.

I found it a little odd after Joe Biden's speech last night they played "The Rising" by Bruce. It was a song told from the point of view of a firefighter trapped in the towers on 9/11. I just found it to be an odd song to play

During the Reagan re-election campaign of '84, they used "Born In The U.S.A.",
which was more of a slap at America post-Vietnam, than just a "rah-rah" anthem.

Classic. Some campaign guru throws the song with the catchy title out there, having no idea what the song is about. Reagan's people wanted tuse Born in the USA for his campaign, apparently they never got passed the first line.

It's amazing what happens when people don't pay attention to the entire song.

And, as I remember, Bruce wanted to part of it.

Is that supposed to be "Bruce Wanted No Part of It". I remember it being that way. Ford Trucks wanted to use "Born in the USA" also. Bruce said no...

Why couldn't Bruce have said "No" when it really counted? When Jimmy wanted to do Glory Days.
