Ok, I think that might be a little over board. They are exercising their 1st admendment right to freedom of speach and expression. I realize that the first admendment only protects them from interference from the government, but I think the government would still be obligated to protect them from such things.

He has not been there in the Senate or has voted present.
( He was elected and immediately set he sights on the White house)

And he hasn't been alone in that regard. Amongst members of the 110th Congress (which began on Jan. 4, 2007),
the vote "missers" leaderboard has some notable members:

Sen. McCain missed 63.8% of the votes (he's #1)
Sen. Obama missed 45.5% (he's #3)
Sen. Clinton missed 32.3% (she's #4)
Sen. Biden missed 30.3% (he's #5)

And I believe the "present" votes from Obama were in the Illinois state senate not the US senate.

Including a vote on a health care bill this past summer that was important enough to bring Ted Kennedy to the floor of the senate to cast his vote. 99 Senators voted on the bill. The 1 and only absent senator---McCain.
