Believe me, I don't condone what they did, I find it very repulsive what they did, they should be dealt with to the fullest extent of the LAW.

I said I'm picking the Chargers to be IN the super bowl-not necessarily to win it.
I'm picking them vs. the Panthers.
Who will win it is anybody's guess.

And, as much as I love the city of San Diego, I'm afraid I won't be there on election day, but, rather, right here in good ol' Iowa getting ready for a trip to Nashville.

If they knew about the earmarks, they would have addressed the conflict early on, especially since McCain has fought so hard against them. These things need to be lined out. They don't normally like to shoot from the hip like this .... They weren't given the time.
Yep, the Bridge To Nowhere and the earmarks are the big thing. Palin hired a lobbying firm to get earmarks... earmarks that McCain himself criticized:
http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/259406

John McCain, always critical of earmarks in general, was just as critical of Palin's requested earmarks and on three different occasions has listed her requested earmarks in his catalog of objectionable "pork lists."

In a newspaper column, Sarah Palin has defended the use of earmarks by stating "The federal budget, in its various manifestations, is incredibly important to us, and congressional earmarks are one aspect of this relationship, " as reported by the LA Times.

McCain in contrast has described earmarks as "Earmarking deprives federal agencies of scarce resources, at the whim of individual members of Congress."

In 2001, McCain's list of spending that had been approved without the normal budget scrutiny included a $500,000 earmark for a public transportation project in Wasilla. The Arizona senator targeted $1 million in a 2002 spending bill for an emergency communications center in town -- one that local law enforcement has said is redundant and creates confusion.

McCain also criticized $450,000 set aside for an agricultural processing facility in Wasilla that was requested during Palin's tenure as mayor and cleared Congress soon after she left office in 2002. The funding was provided to help direct locally grown produce to schools, prisons and other government institutions, according to Taxpayers for Common Sense, a nonpartisan watchdog group.

Wasilla received $11.9 million in earmarks from 2000 to 2003. The results of this spending are very apparent today. (The town also benefited from $15 million in federal funds to promote regional rail transportation.)

( He was elected and immediately set he sights on the White house)
And he hasn't been alone in that regard. Amongst members of the 110th Congress (which began on Jan. 4, 2007),
the vote "missers" leaderboard has some notable members:

Sen. McCain missed 63.8% of the votes (he's #1)
Sen. Obama missed 45.5% (he's #3)
Sen. Clinton missed 32.3% (she's #4)
Sen. Biden missed 30.3% (he's #5)

And I believe the "present" votes from Obama were in the Illinois state senate not the US senate.
:o :o :o THAT'S FIDDLE FADDLE BITS!!!

"John McCain voted with George Bush 90% of the time!" Heard that last week. If McCain missed 64% of the voting opportunities, how could he vote with George Bush? WTF :P And when did the President get a vote in the first place

The country thought so much about that team of Bush/Quayle that despite leading us through victory in the Gulf War of '91...
the voters ran 'em out of office with a team that included that TWO-TERM high-rated V.P. choice that you mentioned earlier.
LIPH wrote: People on the left have done nothing but mock Sarah Palin since McCain announced his choice. Maybe they're afraid of her and what a McCain/Palin ticket might represent, real change...
It's hard to swallow the promise of "real change" when it's being brought to you by a person who votes 95% consistent with our President (of HISTORIC LOW APPROVAL),
and is forced by his party to select a running mate he BARELY knew.
CLINTON IS NOT RUNNING LB!!! :P

And it's only 90% of the time. I watched the speech and took notes. Just currious when the President started to vote

The 95% is based off a study done by Congressional Quarterly where they compare McCain's votes with the positions of the President. Because like you said, the President doesn't vote.

GEEEEEEEEZZZZEEEEEEE!!!

That could confuse some of the voting public :P :P I bet there are some people repeating that "fact" in every bar in America. :D

A friend of mine stated sending Obama $50 a month to keep Hillary out of the White House. He joined the Obama movement, complete with e-mail up dates. After Sarah's speech last night he said that the Obama campaign sent him about 7 e-mails TODAY telling his to stay strong and keep the course :D :D :D :D

Are you disputing the study? :?

I'm also an Obama email subscriber, and they sent me either two or three emails since Palin speech. So I don't know why that guy got 7 emails, I doubt he's on a different list than me. Sounds like an exaggeration to me.

It appears it worked though, the Obama campaign announced that it has raised 10 million dollars since she spoke Wednesday night.

Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said it well: "I hope she gives a speech every day until the election," Burton says."
