McCain could have won the Hillary voters if he picked a VP who supported gay and abortion rights. There was some credibility to the recent commercial about the woman voting for a republican for the first time.
There's no way he'll get those votes now unless Palin suddenly decides she's a rug munching abortionist.
McCain/Palin most definitely aren't.

You're gonna have to run next time yourself. what would be worse for the party, 4 years for mccain (because there's no way he would be able to run again) or 8 for obama?
Cool! Can I be the social director? And the driver of course....when you need to get somewhere in a hurry.SchoolGirlHeart wrote:You're gonna have to run next time yourself. Don't forget she also tried to get the State Public Safety Commissioner fired because he wouldn't fire an ex-brother in law of hers who was a state cop.Tequila Revenge wrote: Easy there LB. The lady has some serious balls!!
Palin has a long history of run-ins with the Alaska GOP hierarchy, giving her genuine maverick status and reformer credentials that could complement McCain's image.
Two years ago, she ousted the state's Republican incumbent governor, Frank Murkowski in the primary, despite having little money and little establishment backing.
She has also distanced herself from two senior Republican office-holders, sen. Ted Stevens and Rep. Don young. Both men are under federal corruption investigations.
She had earned stripes — and enmity — after Murkowski made her head of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. From that post, she exposed ethical violations by the state GOP chairman, also a fellow commissioner.
And Barack is the answer? Cut taxes, but increase spending to give free education to military. Decrease dependency on foreign oil but no domestic drilling. You can play the other side all you want, but yours does not reflect a majority of Americans.

tina fey is hotter

It surprises me that so many people think so.cammac wrote:Palin could go a long way to attacting the disgruntled Hillary supporters.
I've got a feeling you're going to be wrong on this one. Time will only tell.Lightning Bolt wrote:When the V.P.'s debate, Joe Biden is gonna eat her for lunch.
I just think she is gonna come off as a lightweight....
..waiting for her news conference now.
I still find it hard to imagine any disgruntled Hillary supporter who cares about a woman's right to choose, choosing this ticket, knowing that both are pro-life. McCain has made his strong desire to have Roe v Wade overturned and this just serves to reinforce his intent.cammac wrote:Palin could go a long way to attacting the disgruntled Hillary supporters.
I think this pick will work out fine....
